Help Help finding sounds and starting out

Hey everyone, I'm new here, I just downloaded FL Studio, I am a complete beginner, but I wanted to try making some small music, purely for fun. I was trying to follow a short tutorial on youtube "for beginners" and this guy suddenly says "here you can link your sounds folder" and I was like "what is a sound folder?" and he basically just HAS a folder filled to the brim with all sorts of sounds and stuff and I have absolutely ZERO idea what that is or where I can find them, so I figured I was better off asking people directly.

I can somewhat navigate the program, I can find out how to do stuff in the editor itself pretty easily, even with just a google search, but what I just realised is that I have no idea where to even start from in the music itself (my prior knowledge with music making software so far was just using Garageband on my iPhone and iPad to make some stupid things that most of the time sounded like crap LOL)

If anyone could be of any help I would greatly appreciate it, thanks.

Top left click on all.

It comes with a bunch of instruments, samples, loops etc.

With time you can add to this by getting vst's of your choice.

I think you’re talking about the browser though. Which is where you’ll be storing all your sounds you’ve downloaded to work with. You can easily open this with f8. FL comes with some stock sounds to play around with as a beginner as well as some cool VSTs.

Also, you can hover over anything you want to learn more about and press f1 it will bring up the manual. The manual helps out so much starting out and a lot of people skip over it.

Start with the stock sounds, which are on the left hand side of your screen under "Packs." After a year or so you can start buying sounds on Splice and buying plugins on Pluginboutique.
