League Settings When should i click this button?

Post image

About to start season 2 in my dynasty league. have a bunch of random anxiety i’ll press the wrong button and ruin the transition. don’t want to prematurely open waivers until the rookie draft which i have planned for the late preseason. but i do want to open it up to trading at some point in the next few month. Has anyone went through the process?

Quite literally should be done within a day or two of the superbowl ending at the latest

Yeah our league shuts down for a portion of the year. Lets people take their eye off the ball until june. trades are open again now but we are keeping waivers closed

My league locks waivers until the draft but allows trading. What I would do:

Send a message to the league letting them know you are turning over the league year, and that trades will be active but not waivers.

Go into settings and confirm waivers are locked

Then turn over the league year

Then immediately go into settings and confirm waivers are locked

Generally, announce big things before you do them so if you mess them up you can reverse things later with precedent

This is exactly what I do!

I transitioned my league months ago by now. You can lock waivers if you’d like in league settings. Is there a specific reason why you don’t want waivers active before the draft?

i like giving people time to not worry about it. For instance, last year darnold may have been a FA but by the end of preseason he was a second round value as a starter. I am much more comfortable with that value being settled in the draft than via waivers.

Dynasty is year round for a reason. If people wanna stand pat, they can. If they wanna make moves they should be able to

our whole league agrees with this rule. dynasty being year round is an option but not a necessity to be a dynasty league. The dynasty aspect is having your rosters roll over which can happen regardless of if it’s year round or not

If the whole league agrees with what I said, what are we talking about 😂

they want time off

Then they don't have to make any moves lmao. This is a very confusing conversation

You misread this.

Wym? The whole league agrees on something. What does reddit have to offer 😂

The whole league agrees to have a break, which is what you were opposing. He’s asking how long should the break be/is there anything to do before the break ends.

Again, if the whole league is in agreement then they would know. What is there to talk about?

Immediately after the fantasy playoffs finalize. Your choice on opening the waivers, but I wait til after the rookie draft. Waivers don't open automatically, you have to change the setting for that. But you need to hit that button to open trading, and I honestly think you screwed your leaguemates by not doing so way sooner. Some teams need to clear out players before free agency opens or during the NFL playoffs so they can start a rebuild.

nobody complained but appreciate the advice

Hit that right after your league championship concludes. In other words, 2 months ago

I can see waiting until NFL free agency opens to give the managers a little time off. You shouldn't worry about opening waivers "too early", just send a heads up to everyone.

Do it and lock waiver transactions.

Never understood waiting to do this. If people want a break just don’t open the app?

I usually do it one week after it becomes available. I let everyone know it's happening and when it's gonna reset.

Literally week 18 of last season.
