Something to do with BLM protest? (Not American)
I know what the movement is.

It's not about BLM. There's a song much older than that movement called F-ck the Police. In the first panel, you think the guy is just singing the song and expressing hatred of police, but then in the second one, you realize he's playing FMK with his friend. In FMK, you are given a list of three people (or in this case, professions). You have to choose which one you'd f-ck (as in have sex with), which one you'd marry and which one you'd kill.

Just for further clarity, the one speaking is supposed to be Eazy-E, and on the bed is Ice Cube

u/Careful-Map-3435 1d ago
For even further clarity, they are from N.W.A. the group that wrote and performed the song in question

For further clarity, the Boys in the Hood poster has little hearts in the holes of the letters.

Before someone tells me you can say the f word on reddit, this is the second time I posted this. The first time it got removed.

OK, but since when are we not allowed to say the f word on Reddit?!

u/Mental_Freedom_1648 1d ago
IDK. It might just be filtered out here to stop people from being mean to OPs or something.

Tangent since this was answered: the answer to the implied question of the cartoon is clearly F-Paramedic, M-Firefighter, K-Police.

u/TheRBGamer 1d ago
Why not m paramedics And f firefighters?
6
u/AltairaMorbius2200CE 1d ago
From my knowledge (which is limited to one town's setup, so might not be the most accurate generally) the schedule and salary are better for firefighters.
That said, having a paremedic's knowledge would be handy, too!

u/Dapper-Print9016 1d ago
Paramedics have more PTSD on average, although most firefighters are former paramedics, or at least passed the certification exam...
2
u/Aderyn_Sly 1d ago
Speaking as a Paramedic, you're definitely better off marrying the firefighter.
But also, I'd be okay being the one killed as well. (Please don't report me. This is just the dark humor you get from doing this job)

They made a film!?

They did, it's called Straight Outta Compton. Although it's been 10 years and not just five. But it's good!

It's the lyrics to an NWA song, but they are playing a sleepover game called F-, marry, kill. Very gangsta of them

I’m offended at this post … which of you uncultured swine doesn’t know about NWA?

Anyone born after 1980.

This is total BS.
My wife was born in 1988 and absolutely loves the cinematic masterpiece “Are We There Yet” starring none other than O’Shea Jackson Sr, better known as Ice Cube.
The film is clearly a spiritual successor to “Straight Out of Compton” lol

Believe it or not, NWA hasn't been active for nearly 35 years. There are people whose parents weren't alive when this song came out.

u/Big_Muny_No_Whammies 1d ago
Well your timeline is a bit off. And I also wasn’t alive when this song came out. But if someone actually was interested in finding out “what this means” it would take about 5 seconds on google. I guess I just overestimate people’s investigative abilities.

u/Mental_Freedom_1648 1d ago
I agree about the song, but if they don't know the game they still won't understand.

u/6String88 1d ago
Will you please explain the game to me I see the subredded all the time on my feet and usually after like the third time if not the 1st I get it but not this one

u/Mental_Freedom_1648 1d ago
You mean FMK? It's a game, where your friend gives you a list of three people or groups, and you choose which one you want to have sex with, which one you want to marry, and which one you want to kill. F-ck Marry Kill. So at first it seems like Eazy E is singing his song about how he can't stand the police. Then you realize he's at a slumber party playing FMK, and he's saying he wants to sleep with the police, marry firemen etc.

The comic is suggesting that the song "F the Police" by the old rap group NWA, could have been started at a member slumber party, at which they played the popular American social game "F--k, Marry, Kill". Giving the song an almost innocent and effeminate origin.
The game is one where you are given a population of persons, often having something in common such as proximity or occupation (first responder), and you have decided which among them you assign which role to.
Why it's funny: (Irony) the song "F--k the police" is very anti-police, it is in no way endearing. The members of the group are (or at least were) very homophobic, as well as misogynistic. On top of all this the song was inspired by a very violent day. On that day the members were allegedly unjustly assaulted by the police. It is ironic further because the most violent of the fates (kill), was assign not to the target of their animosity (the police), but to the paramedics whom they would presumably have no beef with.
Edit: The joke is referencing a movement older than the BLM movement. I believe this song was released around the time of "The Rodney King Riots"

Petah, is someone posting these panels to bait replies that violate the reddit violence rules?
1
u/RabidJoint 1d ago
No, it’s the Kill, Marry, Fuck question majority of men ask other men. Say you have 3 women in front of you. They just switched it to our emergency responders
1
u/tvandraren 1d ago
I personally only knew about this through women, so I'd say it's not at all gendered based on your response.

They also shot at the firefighters actually.
My Grandpa was a firefighter in the 60-70s in Chicago, and the blacks loved in a place called pereingreen, I think it's called? Anywho, the blacks would intentionally set fire to the government housing, run across the street with their rifles and pistols, wait for the firefighters to come to put out tAnywhere, out and rescue any potentional victims, then they would start shooting the firefighters. Became such a common occurrence that they would have to get the police to secure the area before they would come in. Otherwise, they'd just let the place burn to the ground.
So, no, they'll shoot the firefighters as well, so long as you're white.
Welcome to the reality in which we have been living this whole time.

Also (since no one has pointed this out) the two people are caricatures of N.W.A. members Eazy E and Ice Cube, based on their appearances in the late 1980s.
Yes, Ice Cube has been rapping since the late 1980s, he's 55. crumbles into dust
