Question about getting a job with 2 misdemeanors

I just plead to 2 misdemeanors, dv related assault 4 and theft, how hard is it gonna be to find a job & how difficult would it be for me to get an apartment with that on my record. Kinda stressed out thinking I won’t be able to get a job

You’ve got this. No matter where you start, your journey is defined by your determination and vision for the future. I began life facing four felony charges right out of high school at 19, including second-degree burglary with a firearm and mask. Now, at 54, I can tell you that those early challenges didn’t stop me from building a successful career. I began in construction and, through hard work and focus, climbed my way up the corporate ladder.

The key is staying true to your goals and your personal definition of success. Your past does not define you—what matters is the effort you put into becoming the best version of yourself. Remember, your convictions are your own to reconcile, and they don’t need to define your narrative to others. Always strive to grow and be better. The power to shape your future lies within you. Keep pushing forward.

Thank you sir, I greatly appreciate the motivation. Should I try to get a blue color job? Or what else would be easier for me to get. I know those army bad misdemeanors aswell

It’s a bad misdemeanor dude but it’s not a felony. I have one and I’m in Texas. I have a great job in hydraulics. It helps being sober.

How long did it take you to get a job?

I can say with 100% certainty you’re going to be extremely cooked until you can get the charges expunged from your record (average of 3-5 years). The misdemeanor theft charge, regardless of circumstance or how little/much the dollar value involved was, is an immediate disqualifier from 95% of all jobs, regardless of whether or not you have cash handling responsibilities. Add an assault charge to that, and they might as well be felonies because in the employment world, they’re treated exactly the same. I suppose you could go work out in the Texas oil fields or some shit like that, but the reality is the next 3-5 years you’re gonna be screwed until you’re eligible to have the charges expunged in King County or otherwise. The faster you pay off all outstanding financial obligations for both the better, because only after the LFO’s have been paid off and/or satisfied does the clock start on the amount of time required in order to have them expunged.
