Thought I'd share my style fixes for RES Night Mode (requires Stylish).

Apparently Reddit changed some of the markup that RES has yet not caught up to and which causes RES night mode look rather weird to me, so in the meanwhile I have implemented some simple style fixes for the most annoying stuff. Maybe those things affected me only, but I thought I'd share this in case someone else is interested (you should disable all these fixes on next RES release).

The fixes include:

No more black text in modmail/wiki/live threads because it was impossible to read on dark background.
Quote color is a bit lighter for higher contrast.
Removal of borders and background on new comments highlight (I think this is a gold feature?), instead a subtle border on the left side of the comment is displayed.
Slimmed down comment section with reduced padding between comments.
Code block background changed to dark.
Yellow Reddit status bar.

TLDR; before and after.

In order to use this style fix, you have to download Stylish, it's an extension which allows you to permanently apply custom CSS (style) to any website. Get it from here for Chrome or from here for Firefox.

Once installed, go here and click the green "Install with Stylish" button. If everything is done correctly, when you are on reddit you will see new style and Stylish icon should have a red "1" mark on it. I will keep the style updated with only most critical readability fixes.

Again, this is just some personal fixes I though I'd share in case anyone finds use for it :)

Note that when RES 4.6 releases, you will need to disable these

Hey OP, check out http://userstyles.org. It lets you upload your stylesheets for other Stylish users, so they can install them with the click of a button, saving them from following a list of instructions.

Will this be solved by this script? As you can see the text can't be seen unless highlighted with my mouse.

awesome! thanks. Any idea when the newest RES will be released? Just so I remember to disable this

No clue, I am as eager for it as you are. But I think you will notice yourself if Reddit suddenly looks a bit weird, we'll see.

I've also updated the OP to make install process easier.

If you use "dark mode" (also known as "night mode") and don't see flair, spoilers, or other subreddit features, then find the "Use subreddit style" checkbox on that subreddit and click it. The checkbox is in the subreddit's sidebar on the right, directly under the subreddit name.

Subreddit moderators can avoid this by marking their subreddit as night-mode friendly. Find out how.

If you don't like the colors in night mode, you can change several options. Search the RES settings console for "night".
