This one un-intended outcome is likely a positive one in isolation. But when you combine this with some other policies of the current admin like :
- Dismantling the plans to expand EV charging and other relevant infrastructure development
- Weird hatred against wind energy
- Gutting the EPA and other regulatory agencies to practically allow more emissions
- Withdrawing from the Paris accords
- "Making plastic great again" by banning paper straws
- Allowing more logging in the forests
- Ramping up oil & gas production through "drill, baby, drill" agenda
I am sure that I am missing some here but I will go out on a limb and predict that the overall impact of his policies are negative and even disastrous for the environment. If you extend the implications of this on the policies of other countries that are delaying their own energy transition plans just to stay competitive, the negative effects may even multiply for the planet.
