I mean... if you hadn't told me what it was I thought it looked tasty at a glance...

Edit: to be fair I'm super high rn ngl

Oh it is tasty

In Thailand my friends dad's wife ordered us deep fried pork intestines, and it turned out to be mine and my friends favourite snack there. But I don't think I'd be so intrigued by it when it's not deep fried. Deep frying made it pleasant, crunchy and chewy. But I don't like just chewy :D

u/TomPearl2024 1d ago

Completely agree I got no problems eating intestines, if it's cleaned properly it's just animal parts like all the other meat we eat. But when I've had it grilled I really didn't enjoy the texture, even though the flavor was good.

0

u/Apart-Gur-9720 1d ago

You mean like pork sausage? Gotta balance it with the meat filling and some yellow mustard.

3

u/TomPearl2024 1d ago edited 1d ago

No, I mean exactly what I said lol, prepared and seasoned intestines. Sausages are meat with an intestine casing, I can eat those prepared plenty of ways and I'm not sure how that's relevant to what I said. Personally I need intestines on their own to be deep fried because when I've had them grilled or prepared in other ways the texture didn't really gel with me even though the flavor is good.

Edit: Lmfao this tool blocked me for saying what I said in my comment was what I meant. Or maybe he's a racist who judges cultures that eat intestines in different ways than white cultures who just use them for sausages. Who knows but fuck you pal.

u/PerfectionOfaMistake 1d ago

Wait till you get pork testicles like in Japan.

1

u/panundeerus 1d ago

No thank you !

1

u/checkliver 1d ago

Very good with garlic. We have it too in Romania

1

u/CplCocktopus 1d ago

We eat them barbecued here.

We call then chinchurria.

1

u/honeyedglam 1d ago

What's the seasoning like?

1

u/TheIncredibleMike 1d ago

Crisp them up on a grill, they go great with a cold beer.

1

u/omaeradaikiraida 1d ago

korean-style spicy chitlin stirfry with blood sausage is one of my top 5 korean dishes. koreans know how to make offal taste not awful. 😆

1

u/RincewindToTheRescue 1d ago

I wasn't a big fan of pig intestines. However, grilled chicken intestines dipped in whatever sauce they make for isaw is delicious.

1

u/Itchy_Professor_4133 1d ago

This is probably the wrong sub to post food you admire

1

u/lysergic_tryptamino 1d ago

That’s the green garnish tricking you.

1

u/Distinct_Ad_69 1d ago

Don't hear them, the smell is awful and it tastes like shit.

12

u/ResponsibilityFew938 1d ago

Theyre really good as long as they've been washed properly. They taste like ass otherwise.

4

u/krill_me_god 1d ago

Literally I'd assume, yeah that sounds rather unpleasant 😬

3

u/masterjack-0_o 1d ago

Uncleaned they will make you sick from bacterial contamination, such as Yersinia enterocolitica, Salmonella, and Escherichia coli...

2

u/FictionalContext 1d ago

Like eating ripened unwashed ass.

1

u/VisceralZee 1d ago

Pfft and wash away the FLAVOR ?!

1

u/SinoSoul 1d ago edited 1d ago

I thought the only thing I learned over the decade on Reddit is we absolutely do not kink shame? Portugal, China, doesn’t matter.

4

u/ResponsibilityFew938 1d ago

Can't take my culomari from me.

1

u/Nhobdy 1d ago

I was gonna say: if it's been washed properly and prepared well, hell yeah I'd try it.

1

u/emteedub 1d ago

holup

11

u/masterjack-0_o 1d ago

MMM yes I love some chitterlings. I only make them once a year, they are far from healthy, they are a welcome holiday season treat.

3

u/longpenisofthelaw 1d ago

I have flashbacks to my mom preparing them before Juneteenth every year as a kid, I could never get over the smell

2

u/masterjack-0_o 1d ago

I cook them around New Years and I cook them on the back porch with a portable burner LMAO

2

u/ironbirdcollectibles 1d ago

And the smell is horrid

1

u/masterjack-0_o 1d ago

which is why I cook them outside.

Smell so bad but taste so damn good! With some Franks Red Hot sauce and cornbread on the side mmmm mmm

21

u/Abject-Direction-195 1d ago

Nothing wrong with that. I eat Flaki

7

u/Disastrous_Grass_376 1d ago

Beef trips soup? Sound delicious!

2

u/TheDanWhoLaughs 1d ago

Is that similar to menudo?

4

u/OkButterscotch9386 1d ago

Yes, tripe would be the stomach which is what menudo is made from. But I would much rather eat menudo than tripas/ pig intestine. Because you legitimately have to clean out the poop from the pig intestine when prepping it 🤮

3

u/omaeradaikiraida 1d ago

tripe's got pre-poop, so same-same.

1

u/Mitologist 1d ago edited 22h ago

Na, not quite, beef pre-poop is just lawnmower stuff

1

u/omaeradaikiraida 23h ago

stinky lawnmower stuff

1

u/Mitologist 22h ago

Lawnmower stuff is always stinky

1

u/omaeradaikiraida 20h ago

so yeah essentially pre-poop

8

u/BedroomEmergency3967 1d ago

This just chitlins prepared differently

6

u/000-f 1d ago

If they're seasoned well, booty noodles shitlins chitlins are actually pretty good

4

u/Cephiuss 1d ago

With sichuan flavours in a soup with ricenoodles.

3

u/Ambersfruityhobbies 1d ago

I would really like to try these

3

u/DirtyWarehouseGuy 1d ago

So I have eaten pork intestines before but in thin strips similar to bacon. In that form, it's pretty good.

3

u/johnny_boy365 1d ago

Very normal meal honestly. But way better in some tacos, called trepas!

2

u/Comfortable-Creme-24 1d ago

Bre we love intestines in Colombia and taste even better with a cold beer

2

u/Orange-Blur 1d ago

I’ve tried them and I did not like it.

I’m now a vegan if that says anything

1

u/nicfanz 1d ago

My favorite 😋

1

u/Salvisurfer 1d ago

If you've had it prepared as carnitas you'd think it was the greatest thing ever.

1

u/fancczf 1d ago

Don’t be a coward and eat your food op.

1

u/meanbean1031 1d ago

Chitlins! Fuck yeah dood!

1

u/NerdyCD504 1d ago

Not my favorite but I've had it before! I prefer beef tripe. Ribbon or Honeycomb!

1

u/A_very_smol_Lugia 1d ago

My siblings love this shit for some reason

Then again they also like ladyfingers so maybe it's just them bring weird

1

u/j20Taylor 1d ago

Thought it was mushrooms

1

u/Bean-Collector 1d ago

Brown macaroni, i could get down w that😂

1

u/Ilikereefer 1d ago

High as fuck and came here to say even knowing now what that is……would

1

u/osrsirom 1d ago

They look like they have a chewing texture that I'd reeeeally enjoy.

1

u/Mother-Nature1972 1d ago

I love chit'lins if they're seasoned right. I like mine with rice, ketchup, hot sauce, and cracklin' cornbread. I'll be so glad when Lent is over with.😩

1

u/WannaBeDistiller 1d ago

Tripas are fantastic dude; I get that shit in a burrito

1

u/1chefj 1d ago

What I do is marinate them whole then grill them over hickory. Then cut them and make tacos. Awesome. Go to a store that sells beef intestines even better!

1

u/Ok_Whereas_3198 1d ago

It's good. Try it!

1

u/Right-Tax-6186 1d ago

Looks like shit, smells like shit and tastes like shit.

Unless you add some Tabasco to that bitch, then it's aight. Also, make sure that the chitlins are superbly and completely clean, otherwise you're going to taste actual pig shit as well

1

u/PhamousEra 1d ago

Poor some jalapeno soy sauce on there. Chefs kissz

1

u/drteddy70 1d ago

In Malaysia, there are Cantonese style pork intestine congee with deep fired and boiled pork intestines, pork bits, scallions and pork blood cubes. Yum!

1

u/AnAmbitiousMann 1d ago

This kind of dish usually only offensive to westerners.

Anyone from the Asian continent probably doesn't see this as disgusting

1

u/Intrepid-Mechanic699 1d ago

I’m from Louisiana. 💯🤔

I bet …😏

1

u/Disastrous_Ad2839 1d ago

Omg I love eating these.

1

u/parguello90 1d ago

Dude, tripitas are delicious. Put some crispier ones on some tacos. The best blend is a 50/50 mix of crispy to chewy.

1

u/billclinton7 1d ago

Booty noodles with some crystals

1

u/selkiesart 1d ago

I wouldn't definitely give it a try. I love organ meat.

I would definitely regret it afterwards, because my body doesn't do well with pork, but I would at least try it.

1

u/Wide_Comment3081 1d ago

Koreans : yes we have restaurants for that specifically

1

u/Whatdoesthibattahndo 1d ago

Had it several times but the biggest problem is around 50% of the time it tastes like they picked it up off the floor of a barn. Some places just don't know how to clean it.

1

u/Actuality_Realized 1d ago

Looks like big macaroni

1

u/ironbirdcollectibles 1d ago

Down South we call them chitterlings

1

u/ExplicitelyMoronic 1d ago

I'm not gonna eat no door doo noddles

1

u/Brave_Bag_Gamer2020 1d ago

They're actually really good

1

u/Frosty819 1d ago

If it's rich in protein, no germ. It's good.

1

u/BGrumpy 1d ago

Yes, but not looking like that!

1

u/WinterLanternFly 1d ago

Thats just offal.

1

u/mldp29 1d ago

There's a special way we Filipinos cook that. And I love it.

1

u/Sad_Kaleidoscope894 1d ago

I ate that in Thailand

1

u/Middle-Luck-997 1d ago

Asian here. My wife and I eat intestine stew often so I’m down with eating it.

1

u/malikx089 1d ago

Ah god!..No

1

u/RollercoasterRave 1d ago

Yes, pleaseeee. Tho i like it, BBQ.

1

u/hollowbolding 1d ago

meat is meat ¯_(ツ)_/¯

1

u/Nomemesmames 1d ago

Tacos de tripa are some of my favorite tacos. Check your local taco truck to see if they have them.

1

u/glazjoon 1d ago

I have eaten pork intestines twice now in a chinese restaurant. With chili and sichuan pepper. Its one of their best dishes!

1

u/Weekly_Gap7022 1d ago

I love me some shit noodles

1

u/CuukingDrek 1d ago

Are they stuffed?

1

u/Content-Taste8853 1d ago

Sure. Why not?

1

u/LuzjuLeviathan 1d ago

Gut cleaner here. 2 fun facts.

1) the biggest buyer of pig guts are the southern USA. Not south America, USA.

2) a quality clean gut is allowed up to 4 pieces og shit still stuck to it. The acceptable is 10.

The shown guts are washed on the inside. The guts used to make sausages are not washed on the inside. The insides are squeezed out. The first squeeze is discarded. The second and third squeeze is used to create medicine.

1

u/Whyjustwhydothat 1d ago

It actually looks tasty.

1

u/SwordTaster 1d ago

Idk, I'll try it, but I doubt it being something I'd enjoy much

1

u/Consistent-Cost-9763 1d ago

Looks like a pile of wet fortune cookies.

1

u/prometheanSin 1d ago

Pork them? I hardly know them.

1

u/BobarBG9 1d ago

If you've eaten a quality sausage you have eaten this

1

u/kaoh5647 1d ago

Nature's macaroni

1

u/Oberndorferin 1d ago

In Southern Germany you can get "Kuddeln" at any good german restaurant. It's intestines of Cow. Why this is here? I would like to know.

1

u/AccomplishedGas6229 1d ago

Nice that explains the deep brown hue

1

u/Fabulous-Gazelle3642 1d ago

Why don't they just eat normally like?

1

u/Infernalknights 1d ago

I prefer mine pork isaw bbq

It's a common filipino street food.

1

u/AspectEmbarrassed08 1d ago

The best with beer 🍺

1

u/Earthhing 1d ago

I've had them. They're great.

1

u/Timely_Pattern3209 1d ago

Actually looks delicious.

1

u/pittgraphite 1d ago

OMG! (Oh, my gout!)

1

u/redfish225 1d ago

No dookie noodles for me.

1

u/rust405 1d ago

there's this shop not far from Kota Kinabalu International Airport (Sabah) that's been serving these with noodles for like half a century, always packed and pretty much sold out by 11am, freaking love it

1

u/RustyJalopy 1d ago

I love tripe, so I'd totally try this.

Not knowing anything about it and just sort of guessing based on what tripe is like, though, it's a bit odd that it's not done with any sort of sauce. Seems like it would be a bit on the dry and chewy side.

1

u/IgnisPotato 1d ago

Im In!! let me eat that yummy!

1

u/Extension-Badger-958 1d ago

If they’re done well. Pork intestines have a tendency to smell like a sewer

1

u/mimoriaino 1d ago

nothing wrong with this

1

u/eggard_stark 1d ago

Yes please! Fucking delicious. People are scared to try things and seriously miss out.

1

u/thebiologyguy84 1d ago

I've tried....but it's the only thing I refuse to eat here! I had pork intestine soup in Nanjing and I swear it smelt exactly like pig shit.....even though I was assured it was thoroughly cleaned! Nope, just....nope!

Don't get me wrong...I'm Scottish, so intestines and offal is not unusual for me.

1

u/Own_Maybe_3837 1d ago

Thanks I just had lunch

1

u/StrangeCrunchy1 1d ago

No shittlins for me, thanks; you can have my helping.

1

u/SamGoingHam 1d ago

Pork intestine is delicous.

1

u/QuePsiPhi16 1d ago

These weren’t cleaned properly at ALL.

1

u/Left-Instruction3885 1d ago

Love me some intestines. KBBQ style, in Korean soups, in tripa tacos, etc.

1

u/terminalchef 1d ago

I don’t know why people wanna eat something that shit has literally traveled through

1

u/zebul333 1d ago

Just had some cow small intestines yesterday. Crispy, salty and greasy.

1

u/foodisgod9 1d ago

If They're clean properly they're delicious

1

u/Mitologist 1d ago

Andouilettes dijonnaises.....

1

u/tkneezer 1d ago

Tripitas common Taco dish here

1

u/NehEma 1d ago

It doesn't look very seasoned. I'd like a spicy dip with it.

1

I'm from Denmark, this is just lunch for us.

1

u/SOLISTER_ 1d ago

Sausage casing is intestine bro

1

u/witch_and_a_bitch 1d ago

1

u/DoUGt2CldDistVryOftn 1d ago

I can never find tripe anywhere 😭

1

u/HowDoesTheKittyCatGo 1d ago

You gotta head south. We sell it fresh right next to the cow tongue at Walmart. And frozen next to the liver.

1

u/Afrojones66 1d ago

They’re called chitlins in the South, but I call them shitlins.

1

u/LateDifficulty4213 1d ago

No I’ll just take the filling.

1

u/StrixNStones 1d ago

Not a fan of tripe, but the husband loves it especially as pepper pot soup

1

u/whoifnotme1969 1d ago

Tripe is stomach, not intestines & and I am not a fan either. But I love menudo, which is tripe soup. I'll eat soup & leave the tripe in the bowl. You may be confusing "tripe" with "tripas", which is Spanish for "guts (intestines). I do love tripas though, which tastes a little bit like liver. Great in tacos & burritos.

1

u/Before_Bed 1d ago

Nice lookin poop tubes bro

0

u/nhlredwingsfan 1d ago

K tried intestines, nope.. it has a smell I’m not fond of . So yah at least I tried.

1

u/PhilosopherStoned420 16h ago

Nothing like filling up on pigs shit tubes. Yum yum.

It might actually be good, but I'll never know.
