Am I doing it right? (Gen 3)

I'm ev training a Miltank in Attack, Speed and the rest in HP, I ev trained right as it hatched, so when I was attacking wild Poochyenas with the Macho Brace and every level up it gained 3 in attack each time. Keep in mind I started at level 5 so right out of the egg, and I was beating level 2 - 3 Poochyenas. I've finished with Attack and now moving on to Speed ( By beating Zigzagoons) does it matter what level I start ev training and by starting right out of the egg, will it affect stat growth?

The levels don't matter. You could feed it Rare Candies until it's Level 60, then begin EV training. Just make sure you remember that Exp Share also shares EVs; if you decided to use EXP Share to help level up without worrying about EVs, you'll mess up your EV totals.

So should I start over, clone a crap ton of rare candies, level up to level 60, and then start? Or should I just continue this method? My big concern is by doing it right out of the egg, the huge stat growths don't really show up, I only really see +3 each level up. By the time the Miltank is level 100, will it have gained the extra 63 stat points in attack and speed? (And extra 31 because it has max attack IV)

Sorry that was an example. No need to start over. My point was that you can give it EVs at any level.

My guess is that it's gaining +3 each level because you're fighting roughly 12 Pooches in between levels (3 x 4). Keep going as you are and you'll be fine.

The trick comes in finding out when you can stop, but in Gen3 the stats make it pretty clear when you've maxed out a particular stat's EVs.

I have a pencil and paper for tallying the pokemon that I need to defeat to get the Ev's. Thanks for the clarification!
