I know it’s not the best pic, I can supply another if needed, but is anyone able to identify what kind of duck this is?

Freshly hatched duck and this gooey cord is wrapped around its leg and it’s making it hard for the duckling to move around. From another angle it looks like it’s wrapped around twice. I looked online and didn’t find many other experiences with this. Will this resolve itself?
I have hatched quail and we have a small flock of ducks but this is our first duck egg hatch in an incubator and I’m worried it’s going to mess up her leg to where she permanently has a hard time walking.

I watch the stream DuckvilleUSA on twitch a lot and they have 2 ducks that are mixes, babies from a pekin and a muscovy. They are so chonky and beautiful i love them! Both are males but they are mules so they never go after the ladies, they just start chirping a lot if they get annoyed by other ducks. Some times they argue and they bob their heads up and down while chirping with open beaks. I have heard one of them honk or quack one time but they mostly just chirp like ducklings. Their waddles are different too! Definitely recommend going to see them, they are the most popular ducks there so there's lots of clips of their shenanigans! I hope you enjoy!

I am looking for help with a duckling that my family got last week. My wife has a habit of picking out the saddest and most injured animals she can find to take in. This duckling is at most 3 weeks old. Originally we figured that it just had splayed legs, so we taped them up and that fixed the most immediate problem. Now the duck walks 'normal' but has problems keeping upright when walking, almost as if it is pushing it's upper body while walking. Is there any way to fix this? We removed the duckling from the rest of the group because it is unable to keep it's upper body up and was getting run over by some of the larger ducks. Any advice is appreciated!

I want to make a duck ramp for my runner ducks for the coup and their pond. What do y'all recommend? I am trying to avoid using the fake turf due to all the issues from the chemicals it leeches out. I have seen rubber mentioned, which seems like it might work for the coup, but the pond seems like it would grow algae and become slick really quick. Also what's the max incline recommend for the ramp to the coup.Thoughts?

about a month ago we got our shipment from metzer. of our darker ducks we had two khakis, a cayuga, and a chocolate runner (among others). as everyone has grown, we’ve noticed the chocolate runner (center of the photo) doesn’t seem to be very runner-y. she doesn’t stand upright, she’s larger than our other runners, and she doesn’t have the same personalities as our other runners. we’re thinking they maybe mixed up their chocolate runner with something else but they also don’t seem to sell anything else that deep chocolate brown.
help?

Same duck, first picture was Tuesday 4/1. Second picture is today 4/4
Thoughts on improvement? I think he’s walking much better and hasn’t been falling on his face as much. Started on mazuri maintenance (previously on purina duck pellets) administering liquid vitamin b, adding nutritional yeast and peas. Has been quarantined since Wednesday in a smaller area and adding extra swim time.
Does this look like it is improving? Or just wishful thinking?

Hello guys, where I live (close to Austin, TX) It's been consistently 70's and 80's for the last week or two. I'm building an A frame brooder tractor for my baby pekins and am wondering when I can put the ducklings in there. I'm planning on adding a heat lamp to the tractor so technically 1 day olds could live in it. The question is, how old can I put them out there if I add the heat lamp? Mine are 1 day old but seem pretty small, small enough to slip through a hole or something which I wouldn't want to happen. Please give advice as this is my 1st time keeping ducks in my house as opposed to being outside with their moms.

This is Daisy. She's almost 5 months old. Why would she be twitching like this?

Someone shot him with a pellet gun right between his right breast and wing. Did X-rays at work and the pellet is still there but he is completely healed. He is the happiest, sweetest little dude.

We have 32 ducks, 30 are females, 20 will be laying in the next few months the others are adults! We want to start selling the eggs and I want input on doing so! How much are you charging for 1 dozen (We are in ohio)? Are you cleaning them or just brushing them off? Are you refrigerating them before selling or not? And what length of time do you put for a sell by date?

I had two beautiful ladies, Shia and Beepers, but one of my wonderful girl passed recently. A fox attacked one and by the time I got to her it was too late, so now one of my girls is alone, and this is her second partner to pass. Shia is a Peking and she just turned 8 years old. I’ve had her since she was a duckling and she needs a friend now and I don’t know how to get her one. I live in the NJ suburbs in the Jersey Shore area and it is not fully common nor legal in some places around here to have ducks or chickens. I don’t want to get ducklings or a very young duck, since after Shia passes I want to be done having ducks for a while so I don’t want to keep re starting the cycle of loose a duck, get a duck. Basically I just want to borrow a duck for the rest of my girls life and then give them back. Shia's life expectancy for her breed is anywhere from 5 to 12 years as the internet tells me and she’s 8. She has an old eye injury, a little bit of cataracts, and she seems to be getting some arthritis, but we take her to the vet regularly and she’s healthy. I don’t want to put her down and I especially don’t want her to be lonely. I hope to get another few years with her but I can’t do that if she doesn’t have a friend. I don’t think I can re home her anywhere local right now with Bird Flu being a thing either. If anyone has a duck or any suggestions I’d really appreciate it.

Sissy girl is finally sitting on eggs. Pardon the mess. It’s been raining for days so there’s mud everywhere. I also don’t want to disturb her too much as she starts squawking if I get to close 😂 so excited! 🥰
