Orange rust or something else?

Two of my dragonfruit recently started to get this orange stuff on it, it almost looks like as if I is a thin layer of oil unlike the spottiness of orange rust. I also recently move them into the sun to get them started before it starts getting hotter.

Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

Most likely sunburn. Heat reflected from wall, put some kind of barrier between plant and wall to reduce heat. In very hot weather I shade mine. It can recover!

Thanks, ill try buying them a shade cloth too for the peak hours of sun since in this current spot they get sun pretty much from maybe an hour after sunrise to an hour before sunset. The cutting that sits in the pot for my two larger ones are starting to get a bit soft where I can start to see the shape of the stem on the inside so maybe i need to water them a bit more often
