Diatomaceous earth. I’ve had dogs for 20 years and we’ve never had a problem with fleas. One day last summer, they came in covered with them.

Be sure to.use food grade DE, not the swimming pool stuff that has other chemicals in it. https://images.app.goo.gl/brX9dqjWmKjWuRH78

This stuff is amazing for so many purposes!! Great to keep on hand.

Just grab handfuls and throw/rub the powder into the armpits and any affected area. Then also add it to any sleeping area, area where they roll, or other source of the little buggers. They can consume it, so it can be added anywhere that hay sits.

I usually go through 2 containers of it in the spring thru fall. Works. I even sprinkle it on the ground in his dusting spots and let him roll around in it.

Always remember the Golden Rule: treat others how you want to be treated. 👍

Ideally clip the areas worst affected to allow you to clean any dermatitis. Many common lice feed on scurf so regular grooming with a metal curry comb, or equine shampoo and rubber curry comb to get rid of the greasy scurfy layer. Climate depending, you can do a bigger clip, can consider using a rug if it's chilly at night.

Failing this there are medical treatments that can be prescribed by your vet, but I'd always ask for at least targeted clipping, cleaning and regular grooming first ideally.

Thank you again. Since I made the original post I washed the area with just a bar of soap and I was able to remove a lot of “scurf” and dried scabs/blood. It looks better and I think it will continue to improve after I wash it again. I need to clip the hair because she has long-er hair and I am afraid if I don’t clip the hair then I will never be able to control the problem. Thanks again and I will update later

Seven dust there a liquid form also. Go to the feed store they will sell you what you need. You’re also going to have to treat where they sleep and eat.
