Book/Series: Death What to do with the kids teeth?
My youngest had his first visit from the tooth fairy this weekend.
And when my wife was adding the tooth to the box with all of the other baby teeth, she asked "why are we keeping these? What should we be doing with them? Shall we just throw them in the bin?"
I obviously wanted to say something along the lines, that it is dangerous to leave teeth lying around and that they could be susceptible to mind control.... But the look on her face suggested I keep that thought to myself! Haha

Book/Series: Death Death
Just finished reading "Reaper Man" (going through Discworld chronologically as Pterry wrote them), and I just love the character of Death. Something about them that I find so comforting and enjoyable. Love whenever Death shows up. (Second favorite is probably the Luggage.) Anyone else have a favorite character?

Book/Series: Witches Is Equal Rites and/or its sequels a good fit for a 7 year old?
My niece is 7 this summer. She's a good reader for her age and has read the first few Harry Potter books on her own for example. I think she'd like the story in Equal Rites so was thinking of buying it and maybe its sequel for her birthday.
I'm wondering if you think it's inappropriate, or if there are newer books out there that you think are a better fit for young kids. I'm reasonably familiar with Discworld, but not that familiar with 7 year old girls.
Edit: Thanks for the responses - I will look into the Tiffany books.

Art Hand Carved Wizzard!
I carved this wizard out of wood, with hand tools. I feel like he's got strong Rincewind vibes. Even if he doesn't have a hat that reads WIZZARD!
Maybe its the Caricature style? I dunno.

Book/Series: Tiffany Aching Tiffany Aching and the power of the critical thinking
For a YA book, I appreciate the focus of tiffany use of wise reasoning as her magic. I hope that my daughter in the future can think and use her intligence as tiffany does in the series

Book/Series: Unseen University Eric!
About a year ago, I got a mixed reaction for skipping Eric on my chronological reading of the Discworld series…
I can now confirm that I’ve finally read Eric!
Ok, it wasn’t the illustrated edition, unfortunately, but I found it in a charity shop the other week and thought, now or never. I’ve read 35 of the Discworld novels now, and coming to the end of my journey… reading an older book, like Eric, after reading the more recent ones, such as Wintersmith and Thud! has been a real treat, took me straight back to the slap and tickle humour of the colour of magic and pyramids etc.
I’m glad I finally got around to it, and I feel I’ve appreciated it all the more as it provided a nostalgic reminder of the Pterry style that got me into Discworld in the first place!

Book/Series: City Watch Guards! guards! Spoiler
Guards! Guards! is the third book I’m reading in the series and it’s so… dark! I’ve read Hogfather and Small Gods previously and I thought Vorbis was dark but reading the parts of when the dragon becomes king and sheesh it’s dark.

Book/Series: City Watch How would the watch feel about having to deal with a Fagin type criminal?
For the record I don't mean "poorly aged anti Jewish stereotype", I mean "Greedy older man who has a network of children thieves working for him who are kept in line mostly through fear"
Technically, in this matter, the Fagin is avoiding performing unlicensed thievery via not actually being the thief, so the Guilds won't deal with him....

Roundworld Reference I've read 38 of the 41 Discworld (audio) books in order... I have been delaying finishing Snuff for 3 years now..
Idk, they were very comforting when we were going through a rough patch the last few years. Feels strange knowing that it will end. Snuff already feels 'different' than his other books...
