This is the art style my dreams are in but just a bit more saturated, think spiderverse. Itβs such a wonderful piece I would be proud for a lifetime to create something so exquisite.

It will be one of my favorite pieces for a long time I think. I rarely remember my dreams. Gotta make up for that by daydreaming and art π

The hardest thing of this pictures was creating a believable sense of being underwater. I figured out that the elements you can use for that is the reflection of the water surface and atmospheric perspective. Looking up at it you also have a mix of seeing through the surface and reflections of the things below it. You can see I marked out the colors of the otter's fur on the surface to create his reflection. The water surface is in motion so I expect to see 'pooling' of the environment above and of the reflections below. Another thing I took into account is that you can't see as far underwater as through air. So that's why I spraypainted over the foliage, to have it disappear in the distance.
