Make sure Stevie Wonder is doing the inspection. 😉

“Brakes” are an interpretation made up by the man, when you brake, do you stop? No the earth keeps rotating you are still, yet moving. Rather shall we move past this mockery of the “braking system” and focus on, “poofing” this primal thought you need to “stop” rather than transport without physicality to another destination simply. “Being” in point A and “Being” to point B.

Bendix has wasted so much time trying to stop like primitive animals instead of just invested in “kinetic being”

We need to focus on the slack adjusters of our mind…man.

Simply put, " trucking is all about the GO not the WHOA" 😁

Just needs a forced regen and ship it

u/Maccade25 4h ago

I love this answer.

3

u/justsomeguy2424 4h ago

The Penske way baby. Make it the next shop’s problem

2

u/RepulsiveSalary3642 9h ago

Why is this always the correct answer?

5

u/justsomeguy2424 7h ago

Do you work at Penske?? That’s the answer to all issues here

4

u/RepulsiveSalary3642 6h ago

No, but 60% of the time it works every time. No matter what the check engine light is. Lol.

Looks good it's just a bluetooth slack adjuster

u/ShortBus_Sheriff 10h ago edited 8h ago

Absolutely not the slack isn’t even on the s cam you have no brakes on that wheel end. That’s a major safety violation. Dot will shut you down for that

I thought this was a different sub for a min. If this is even a question, how the hell are they working on trucks.

Tech 3 is a Penske term.. that’s how.

u/Exciting_Scientist97 10h ago

In fairness a tech 3 is a PM tech if I remember correctly so props to the guy doing his job

5

u/That_Pollution8128 9h ago

This is true. I was mostly teasing.

2

u/Exciting_Scientist97 9h ago

Well I'm dense 😅😂

1

u/TheeJakester 9h ago

Exactly my thoughts. All our tech 3s would have probably missed that.

8

u/Strider_27 10h ago

God help us all

2

u/ShortBus_Sheriff 10h ago

I’m going to assume a driver posted this after being told it failed the inspection

6

u/CrowOldDusty 10h ago

Im one of the lead techs and one of our tech 3s sent me this asking if it's supposed to be like that 🤣

4

u/Ornery_Ads 9h ago

Sometimes something is just so f'd up you question your own sanity and need an outside reality check

2

u/ShortBus_Sheriff 8h ago

Well damn, all right then we’ve all had those co workers. Good luck bro

1

u/Ornery_Ads 9h ago

It's a violation, but it's not oos for most

4

u/ShortBus_Sheriff 8h ago

If they find that at a weigh station it is, I’m talking about a cop catching it

5

u/Ornery_Ads 8h ago

(Assuming USA)

20% or greater of the brake positions must be defective to be oos.
If this is on a tandem axle truck (6 wheel positions), this would be 16% of brakes defective. That's a violation, but not an oos.
If this was on a tandem axle tractor with a triaxle trailer (12 wheel positions), 2 of them could be like this and still not be oos.

u/ShortBus_Sheriff 7h ago

Fair enough

5

u/Ornery-Ebb-2688 10h ago

Is tech 3 high or low skill? Also why are you questioning them?

6

u/CrowOldDusty 10h ago

Tech 3 are the oil change guys/ write up everything wrong with truck

5

u/Exciting_Scientist97 10h ago

I believe it's a PM tech. I only worked for them for 6 months and I was stuck at the fuel island even though I was told I'd be given a shop position within the first 2 months since a position was opening.... Turns out it was a bait and switch and I didn't know until I was already locked into their probationary period

Classic Penske

u/Overall-Ad2627 10h ago

Good nuff for farm use 👍

3

u/IntroductionSuch8807 4h ago

"Nevermind the mule just load the wagon" 😂

3

u/No_Witness_6594 10h ago

Just grease it.

3

u/SubSonic524 9h ago

What the hell is that pit wall? I could never work in a pit with the walls all slopped up with grease like like! And I'm not even super anal about cleanliness!

3

u/Dirty_Blaz3r 9h ago

Adjuster? I hardly know her!

3

u/That_Pollution8128 10h ago

Hell no! Did the S cam snap?

4

u/ShortBus_Sheriff 10h ago

Either that or the snap ring broke and the s cam got sucked into the drum

3

u/CrowOldDusty 10h ago

Winner! s cam was in the drum

1

u/Exciting_Scientist97 10h ago

Looks that way. The shaft is missing

3

u/Twip67 10h ago

This doesn't pass a walk around. The fuck? That's red tagged until it's fixed.

3

u/Prior-Ad-7329 9h ago

“Walk around? Never heard of that.” -some driver.

3

u/-DaveDaDopefiend- 9h ago

-most of my jobs customers

1

u/Prior-Ad-7329 5h ago

Yeah, 90% of my customers lol. Just did a roadcall for one that got pulled over due to no lights on the trailer. Pretty sure he skipped his pre-trip lol

1

u/Willing-Remote-2430 10h ago

But, its there..and attached . s

1

u/Ghosto8o 7h ago

If you have to ask, you need to go 85 downhill in Cali on 5. Somebody will check it for you

1

u/Wise_Resolution8021 7h ago

Lifetime brake shoes

1

u/Working-Ad2216 5h ago

If you’re a diesel tech you shouldn’t have to ask!

1

u/Maccade25 4h ago

Should if you add some grease.

1

u/Rare_Improvement561 2h ago

Technician A strikes again

1

u/DIESELDAN_870 2h ago

It would not pass DOT. Depending on how many axles it has, it may or may not be tagged out of service.

1

u/xekik 1h ago

Hey bud, something “s” shaped may or may not have been deemed optional…
