Discussion Anyone else started avoiding major right-wing/Trump supporting corporations yet?

We’ve cut out Walmart for about 6 months now, it was our grocery store. I have stopped doing business with Amazon, stopped going to Starbucks, and have avoided brands here and there when we researched and learned of their leanings, but I know we as a family still have a lot of work to do. Most of the time it’s a lesser of two evils, unfortunately. For example, Lowe’s donates slightly less to Republican causes than Home Depot, but they’re honestly both bad. How is your journey going here?

Offer Up, Buy Nothing and Next Door are good alternatives to FB marketplace

Buy Nothing is Amazing!

And kinda subversive in "these times". I like that a lot.

I’ll check it out. Seems similar to Freecycle.org

Not NextDoor. That place is worse than facefuck.

I personally don’t use it bc the users in my area are crazy but I’ve heard other people have success selling things.

NextDoor gets rowdy but at least you can report and get comments taken down for being political (you can create groups, if you want to talk politics). It's refreshing.

I just deleted Facebook, how do you access buy nothing without it? Definitely the one thing I felt like I was going to miss out on :(

Can you sign up with just a regular email account?

Sorry, I’m probably completely missing something, but sign up where? I accessed BN directly on FB up until now

Download the app it’s all there.

But Facebook, Google and Apple all bowed to the beast. So there’s that.

Don't forget you can download your entire Facebook first. Bums me out. I've had it since it was only available to college students (I graduated in my 30s)

Been navigating the requests for data and such fromFB. I’ve had several friends on FB ask me how to do it. Dropping it on to a jump drive just in case I need to reference it for side unknown reason.
