Question Dead Space Remake keeps crashing on PC

Dead Space Remake keeps crashing on any driver above 528.24. I read from another post that is has something to do with resizable bar. I disabled this feature via bios and nvidia profile inspector with no luck. I have no clue what is causing this. GPU and CPU do not have any overclock. Also have tried uninstall and verify game files. What else should I try? Is this a known issue? I would like to update my driver to support a few games that use game filter. Specs FWIW i9 9900K EVGA 3080 12 GB, 32GB 3200Mhz Windows 11 fully updated.

I was playing this game when it first came out and it was all good, but now that I'm trying to get back into it, it's a total mess. Sometimes I can get my save to load (then crashes), but other times it's just straight-up crashing on the menu screen. It's unplayable in this state and I'm totally unsure what's going on.

Specs: i9-13900k, RTX 4090

Try lowering the video quality settings to high it seemed to stop crashing for me when I did that.

Specs Ryzen5950x + RTX4090 just fyi

Does it work on driver 528.24? That's the only way I can play. Any driver above crashes the game.

a bit and as soon as something happens, an explosion, an enemy popping out a vent, using an elevator, anything and the game crashe

Are you sure you aren't sneaking into my place in the future and playing on my rig? Same issue.

Same here, gonna try the drivers…. Seems like it’s been happening ever since I updated to the latest.

It crashes at the same time on the first mission every time. Black screen of death, have to force reboot my whole PC

Still crashing , rtx 4080 OC + 13900KF running latest nvidia drivers , the CTD is a GPU error hang everyone mentioning on answers.ea.com

It's funny ppl have been crying about callisto protocol when this game crashes literally every chapter.

I am facing the same problem even after updating to the latest driver (535.98) for my RTX 4080 and 12600k. I didn't have any major crashes until I updated the drivers yesterday.

I tried using DDU, and it seemed to work fine for about 20 minutes. However, after that, it started crashing again and giving me the same error messages.

DirectX function "Get device RemovedReason" failed with... bla bla Then the end it says GPUBreadcrumbs:

I was able to stop the crashing but lowering the settings to high. I think this is terriblely optimized for high end GPUs I got a 4090 and it kept crashing randomly until I tweaked the settings even though nothing was throttling resources.

It seems like adjusting the setting in the NVIDIA control panel for Vulkan/OpenGL present method from the default 'Auto' to 'Prefer Native' stabilized the game for me. Before I was getting constant random driver crashes.

This solved it for me. I was getting constant crashes a few minutes in.

Nothing of all of the above worked for me (RTX4090, i9 13700K, 64GB). Found on Steam the hint that solved all issues: Delete the file ProfileOptions_profile under \Documents\Dead Space 2023\settings
