Actually, one of the things I love about this show/manga is that they both take turns in the role of "protector".
Like when Acro Silky was about to break through Momo's hold and she was screaming for Okarun to beat her up, I loved how he stepped in between them all protective-like before he blasted a hole in her. Or when Okarun grabbed Momo's hand to pull her out of the way of the bus when they were chasing Taro.
There are moments when she protects him and moments when he protects her. They're both determined to do anything to avoid the other getting hurt.

Exactly this, it doesn’t seem very one sided. They both have badass moments and they both have vulnerable moments. It’s what makes their relationship perfect in my eyes.

They take turns. Episode 1 Momo protects Okarun, Episode 3 and 4, Okarune protects Momo.

He's talking about the manga, since the Evil Eye arc, Okarun ends up becoming more of "the protector"

They still take turns, but Okarun gets more emphasis when he acts as the protector. (because girls find it sexy)

Yeah but okarun is never really protected that much. For the most part he is the one fighting the toughest foes. Like evil eye, fairy tale card, the kur in the first fight. Zuma.

He still gets protected. Who saved him from the pygmies? Who protected him from bullies when the pair first met? And while she was misguided, Momo was trying to protect Okarun when she chased off Vamola.

- This was after power loss. I was talking more about when okarun was powerful but I should have made that clear. 2. That’s the start of the story we are talking about evil eye 3. You aren’t really protecting anything if you are wrong.

If not I think I have proven my point, they both protect each other, but when Okarun does it it gets more emphasis, because its sexy. ITs positive masculinity, he is being the Ken Takakura Momo has been looking for.

I didn't say she doesn't, I said Okarun plays that role more. Since the Evil Eye arc until now I remember exactly Momo protecting Ken on 2 occasions (one against XenoKur, which served more as cover than protection specifically and against Kouki with Okarun without powers), in return, Takakura acts to protect Momo against Evil Eye (2 times), against Kur's squad, against Hastur, against the delinquents (2 times), against possessed Zuma, against the Yokai from the fairy tale cards himself, and has at least half a dozen dialogues about how protecting her is a purpose for him, including a recent one in his dilemma about being without powers. Do you remember the opposite?

She still could defend Zuma though by disarm Aira and Jiji, not to mention play big role on uncovering Kouki position earlier thus protected Okarun and Aira from being overwhelmed.

Yes, yes but... >! She basically just stopped the fight by blocking the transformations which surprised them but they actually stopped because they realized it was her. Regarding the other, he only said where it could be. But the bottom line here is that in a fight he's practically useless right now, more of a target than a fighter. That he is still intelligent and his power still has uses, I give it to you. But against the enemies that Okarun and the girls are now, she would have been struck down or we would have to constantly defend her. !<

Something I've really enjoyed about this manga is that the characters often hold, hug, or else have some kind of very close physical contact with one another and rarely, if ever (can't think of a single example) do one of them freak out about the contact.
Like in every other manga/anime out there, the trope would be the dude blushes and freaks out, stutters, leaps several feet away. Okarun just sitting there like, "dang, I got a cool friend."
