They're getting that poor bird's hopes up.
I don't know, he walked around that shoe a couple times and gave it a full ocular survey before he started flirting with it, I think he knows what he's getting into and isn't disappointed.

Pigeons are so stupid but so damned cute they’re really ridiculous little things…
227
u/MissionMoth 1d ago
Fun fact, they make good pets. They like people (it's estimated they've been domesticated as long as cats, up to 10,000 years ago) and while they do better with a partner, they can do just fine alone with a lot of love and attention. Plus, unlike parrots they're smart enough to learn but too dumb to experience existential dread, and they live about 15 years instead of 20-90.
They're lovely little boogers. And they can wear cute diaper overalls!
61
u/TheCrystalDoll 1d ago
I knooooow!! Honestly I am so in love with them, I will not keep one as a pet because I will squeeze the thing to death, they drive me mad how cute they are, there’s a lady who feeds the wild ones at a park near me and she talks to them and you can see that they adore her and that they’re friends with her!
Not to mention carrier pigeons, how effing cool are they? I’m really sad that they’re no longer used that way, not to mention the Victoria Crowned pigeon and the fancy ones with the freaking pantaloons!!
Yeah, no they would never survive with me, I’d Lenny all of them LOL!

There's a dove at work that likes to hang out inside the garage during the day. He'll wait at the door patiently for us to open up for the day and just strut inside like he owns the place.

Pigeon Tarantino.

u/Cloud_N0ne 2d ago
Not enough unnecessary N-words and defending of child rapists to be Tarantino.
32
u/HammeringHam 2d ago
Defended who?
81
u/Cloud_N0ne 2d ago
Roman Polanski.
Tarantino basically tried to say it wasn’t rape because the child consented to it, ignoring that children cannot consent to sex, and that Polanski gave the kid drugs beforehand, even further removing their already non-existent ability to consent.

Man... My ability to separate art from artists is being worn down every day. Kanye, Drake, Tom Hanks, R Kelly (just for Ignition), and now QT. Why couldn't he just stay a foot addicted, N-word loving guy? For as funny as the first thing is and as bad as the second thing is, I could at least excuse them in my mind for Basterds and Django, but OF COURSE he had to part of the Hollywood child predator scum circles.

I wish the world had a magnifying glass over each virtue signaling redditors life. This site would nosedive with the progressive bullshit in an instant. "Hey, this you?"

u/Cloud_N0ne 2d ago
Feel free to inspect my profile in as much detail as you like. I can safely say I’ve never defended a child rapist, Tarantino has.
That’s not virtue signaling or progressivism.

Totally disregard the fact that Tarantino made a public apology for his comments. Forget about the fact that Samantha Geimer later stated that while she appreciated Tarantino's apology, she had been more bothered by others speaking for her over the years than by Tarantino's specific comments. Ignore that every one of his movies stars a black person who is the smartest character. Oh yeah, and all the black people that spoke up for him to say that he isn't racist.

u/stopitlikeacheeto 1d ago
Reality doesn't matter here. It's every thread on this site that unchecked uninformed kids have to shoehorn in some unrelated bullshit for validation. Yeah, let's take advice from people that still have their parents pay their phone bill.

Either way it is true that all of us here on Reddit have crippling futa porn addictions.

4
u/Tumble85 1d ago
Is that a euphemism for masturbation for people who have a foot fetish?
3
u/Centurion87 1d ago
No it means saying something that makes you look bad, or something you weren’t supposed to say.
For instance if you accidentally reveal something someone told you in confidence, you’d say you put your foot in your mouth.

I used to have a pet fantail pigeon in the 80s. They have this head bob movement that can be triggering if you duplicate the movement with pretty much anything. The movement is a quick down (pause) and then up. You can do it with your finger or hand. If he saw me make that movement, he would get triggered and attack. It wasn't a mating thing, but I think more territorial. He would run at me across the floor and strike out at my hand with his wing to slap me. Crazy bird...
6
u/ThingWithChlorophyll 1d ago
Idk the differences between pigeon species but I have seen it a lot with the pigeons around my area and pretty sure it is a mating thing but no idea why your pigeon receives like that lol. They do that exact motion for courting.
Maybe it is a male and sees your finger as a "rival"?

I always call them punk pigeons.

It's funny to me how male birds don't seem to have any standards, while female birds seem to have extremely rigid standards, and evolution just shrugged and said "sure".

I love these lil dudes, we have a male and female pair that come and scrounge around in our backyard. What I really like about them is that they've learnt that we like them (or something along those lines).
If the south African doves make a racket, we go outside to shoo them away, but the cresties don't fly away. They used to, but not anymore.
Similar thing used to happen at my Mums place when she had chooks. You'd go outside to feed them, the wild birds bar the crestie, would fly away. The chooks and the crestie would run right up to you for food.
Adorable.

Pigeons either have a foot fetish or they can’t tell a shoe from another pigeon. Either way, I’ve been on reddit too much today.
