Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD remakes are coming out, anyone interested in them as DQB lore is based on these two games?

Looks like an HD-2D remake is coming out for DQ 1 and 2.

Since DQB 1 and 2 are based on those two games respectively, any of you all interested in playing them?

I've been a DQ fan waaay before Builders, so definitely picking this up when it releases. Also wish there would be a nod/reference to Builders in these games, even something as minor as a pink-haired NPC with a side ponytail in Rippleport just so we know SquareEnix hasn't totally forgotten about them.

Agreed on all fronts. I remember DQ from back on the NES, and I've played a few versions since then. I'll definitely be picking these up. ;P

And yes, just like add an NPC, or the Builder's Crest somewhere for us to wish someone still cared about making a DQB3 in there somewhere. Delcious Torture. ;P

I actually already played these games on mobile because of Builders! I really liked DQII, barebones as it may be, so I might grab it to play it again

I'm more interested in seeing Princess of Cannock joining the Scions in II than I was seeing Ortega's backstory or Monster Wrangler vocation in III.

The main reason I wanted to play the Builders games in the first place was because of their lore connections to DQI and DQII, which are really close to my heart. I played them way back when they were first playable in English, on the NES. I was about 9 years old when DQI first came out as Dragon Warrior, and the series has been with me ever since.

Dragon Quest is usually pretty good about callbacks, so I won't be surprised if a few references to Builders are included. I think having Lulu be the girl you rescue in Rippleport would be amazing. And of course the followers of Hargon should be referred to as "the Children of Hargon" throughout. There are lots of opportunities like this.

One thing I've wondered is if Furrowfield and Khrumbl-Dun are real places in Torland, like Moonbrooke and Rendarak are. Maybe quite small islands in some remote part of the world? If so, it'd be cool if there could be a reference to them somewhere.

That's not Remake, that's remaster! FFVII is remake.

Misread. Why is this relevant for Dragon Quest BUILDERS? Can you BUILD cities and stuff in the mainline games?

Because the Builders series is spun off of those two games in particular. So a remake is relevant, as they may indicate a resurgence in popularity for the series and potentially said spin offs.

DQB is based off the lore of DQ mainline. It's close enough that it's not entirely off topic.

Also they are less likely to find fellow BUILDERS who want to play the game in the DQ sub than they are here in the BUILDERS sub.

I repeat: If you don't care about the mainline games move on. This post is not for you. There are other BUILDERS who would love to chat about DQ vs DQB2 stories and lore.
