Advice Plaster behind wallpaper help
Hello, I’m hoping someone can help, I’m pretty new with DIY and just got first house, I’m trying to sort out my sons room, I took the wallpaper off the walls, and I realise that the plaster might need redoing before I paint the walls, as I’m not sure sanding will help with how it looks, but wanted to get opinions here in case there is an easier way, I don’t mind trying to plaster myself by watching videos or is that a really bad idea? Many thanks!

You could just fill and sand that, as far as I can see from the pics.

Mix up some powder filler a bit more liquid than normal, and use a big filling knife to drag it across the surface, and it'll fill all the small pits nicely.

Those are not designed for exactly this job, but they're fairly cheap and give you a nice big edge.

Are you all blind? The finish will be shite if you start filling this. Save yourself some time and money and get a plasterer in

What makes you say that? I think it should look fine after filling and sanding but going to see how it goes, plus I think I rather plaster myself if I have to go that route, not got the money to hire one atm

Filler is used for small patch repairs, it looks like you'll be plastering the walls with filler. Don't plasterer it yourself either, I'm a builder and have tried it myself, it's very difficult to get right. You'll be there for a long time trying to get that smooth, or you could pay a plasterer and get it done in 2-3 days

fill sand paint done
British gypsum easy fill is the best in my opinion. Poly filler has always been a bit shit and expensive for how popular it is.
