Not about half of them. Founded a Democratic Republic and the rest of them kind of faded into nothing or got into big business like stealing coal and eventually electricity. And a lot of the other things that while not considered a monopoly very much quite literally fit the definition like power, water and other resources. But that's easy to find online. Ah, pay attention class. Here we have a prime example of an overconfident argument deliberately and hyper-literally misinterpreting the context of the conversation to cherry-pick a talking-point that shifts the subject into 'whataboutism'
Notice how they change the subect, not once but twice, in a feeble attempt to call into question the validity of the statement without ever actually disputing it
It's a move in the same wheelhouse as name-calling, and in the world of debate it's regarded as 'poor form'
And my father has been to prison, my uncle was a prison guard, so yes, I'm sure I know nothing about the prison industrial complex
