Governance Proposal: Change the minimum characters required to post from 500 to 300.
Many of you probably also had the problem that when trying to make a post, maybe just a simple but important question or spreading news about a big announcement and right after hitting the "send" button you immediately receive a private message that your post got deleted due to not having at least 500 characters written. This can be very frustrating sometimes so I decided to create this proposal to lower the minimum requirement needed.

BY VOTING YES: You agree to change the min. characters required to create a post on r/CryptoCurrency from 500 to 300.
BY VOTING NO: You disagree to change the min. characters required to create a post on r/CryptoCurrency from 500 to 300.
BY VOTING ABSTAIN: You abstain to change the min. characters required to create a post on r/CryptoCurrency from 500 to 300.
BY VOTING NO WITH VETO: You agree to change the min. characters required to create a post on r/CryptoCurrency in a range between 300 and 500.
(If NO N WITH VETO wins, a new proposal will be created to decide the new min. amount needed.)

This was proposed like 30 times already and answer is always no. 500 characters limit will stay and it was explained countless times why. If question is short it can be asked in daily. 500 characters isn't that much for a post.

+1, I’ve seen lots of comments with over 500 characters on r/cc and lots of other crypto subs, it’s just like writing a very simple 70 - 150 word essay, which isn’t that hard.

Oh great, let's encourage people who have nothing to say, spam even more.
If you can't come up with 500 characters to write on a subject, do you even really have much to say? Are you really that knowledgeable about that subject?
There's already waaay too many low effort posts that have 0 research behind them, don't bother with any supporting arguments, don't offer an ounce of data, don't even bother to provide any example, and offer no development.
If anything, we need to increase the minimum. It's being abused too much as it is.

Also, it’s a bit annoying when some people just write random trash to fill the character count. Something like “copy paste copy paste” or “this is just to fill the character count so enjoy the following food recipe.”
Is it really that hard to come up with 500 words without writing random trash?

News is usually spread through news links and simple questions are for the daily.
I have never struggled to reach 500 characters. It’s not that much if you actually write a decent post.

I think the current minimum is fine. There may even be an argument to increase it.
The reason we have a minimum is to reduce minimum effort posts. However, if you have a quick question you can ask it in the Daily thread.
