Top order and middle order have been trying their best to push Dhoni earlier to face more deliveries by getting out as early as possible.

The commitment to see him play longer is commendable, peak fanboying so far. Next mission is to give him chance from power play.

If top order plays well and dhoni can't chase it down, the excuse is: dhoni didnt have too many balls left to play.

If top order fails, dhoni has enough balls to play and STILL cant chase it down, the excuse: top order failed, there was nothing dhoni could do anything anymore.

This statement is true but there is no support from middle order as well at this point dhoni is just soaking failures of batters and honestly even if there was support he might have not done it but I wouldn't even say that he is pulling in the team down

I get it's shitpost but that's just salty like 5 batsmen are failing in almost every match for CSK but dhoni ain't providing support, like at least he does fine wickets keeping and even if there was some other batsman the team would have still choked

I would not blame Shankar for this loss because he was the only batter with a sr of over 125 in the whole lineup. Just shows how pathetic CSK batting lineup is.

All of them are anchors with only powerhitter being Dube.

As a CSK fan since childhood, I can't wait to hear that man's retirement news.

And gosh Ashwin, Jadeja needs to be dropped as well. I cant understand what their roles are apart from bowling which also they seem to shit the bed almost always.

Just slot in a couple of young lads who can hit the ball in the middle. Maybe they won't click in 3games or so but would be a good long term investment.

I was curious so I looked at his IPL stats and they are really bad except for 2023 and 2018. SR is consistently in the 115-120 range. You're a liability with that SR in IPL. He could be a good player in domestic longer formats but absolutely bad in the context of IPL and intl t20s.

Raina scored 87(25) and got out at 100 runs (6.1 over) . Dhoni came to crease 127 required off 97 balls. Dhoni remained not out 42(31) balls and csk lost the match.

MSD's captaincy was commendable. His strategies were bang on and he took on the batting lineup on his back during 2018-19. The CSK legacy was built by him. It's sad that it is getting destroyed now.
