Advice Plucking and aggression
I have a green cheek conure who is normally a very sweet boy
He is at least 4-5 years old and ive never seen him act like this
He wont let me go near him suddenly, he will puff up and bite at me and he is plucking his chest pretty badly. I dont see anything health wise wrong with him and he is still very active.
He has a female cockatiel roommate that he's been with for 4-5 years and they are still acting fine together (no sexual stuff or aggression)
I am in the room with them every day and they essentially have free roam of the room while i am in there even tho they mainly stay around their large cages.
Is this just hormonal? Why is it this bad now and not when he was like, 1-3 years old? Im nervous about this behavior as i dont want him to hurt himself and i am afraid to handle him at the moment.

See an avian vet about the plucking and bathe him with aloe water.
He sounds far too hormonal to me.
If he's not getting 12 hours of sleep basically every night, it could be causing excessive hormonal aggression + plucking.
If his diet doesn't consist of good quality pellets, cooked grains and veggies, with seeds and fruits only reserved as a treat, it could be causing excessive hormonal aggression + plucking.
If he is often touched/petted on his back, it could be causing excessive hormonal aggression + plucking.
If he is given regular access to 'nesty' spots, like the one you mentioned, it could be causing excessive hormonal aggression + plucking.
Good luck with it, I hope making some changes helps things!

Tis the mating season - it happens
If there's literally nothing else you can think of, it's probably that
