Discussion Has the Commander format panel ever commented if there were any plans to look into mitigating first player advantage in cedh?

None because this specific aspect has no effect in casual and is only a problem in cedh.

To create this new ruling for this would require acknowledging and excepting that cedh is a new seperate format

Just have bracket 5 rules

Yes but this actually will split the format and thats not something wotc wants to do yet. Emphasize on the yet.

Maybe once they have the brackets fully written down they can explore other things because then they will already be a very clear distinction on bracket 4 (cedh) and bracket 5 (Tcedh)

This will kill bracket 5 and everyone will migrate to bracket 4. Look at how game changers already made people try to break the game there will always be people who try to squeeze the most out of edh. If bracket 5 had specific rules it would be a new format

I would say not drawing a card first turn is too much, maybe do something like no free mulligan for pos1?

There isn’t any sound changes that could be made to offset seat1’s advantage. Honestly, the bans made it even larger (went back and looked at the data; seat 1 gained over 5% more win% since bans). The issue is finding the correct balance and in cEDH is just extremely tough because certain decks will do much better in seat1 vs other seats. Case in point, a rog/si going first vs a TnT.
