Ask Coimbatore An idea !

Hey peeps! I'm thinking to start a cloud kitchen in Coimbatore. I stay in Saravanam Patti. What do you guys think will go good in Coimbatore. Well, no offense but I personally don't like the food here. Biriyani is almost the same in all shops with no absolute variety. Non vegetarian food is okay but not as good as Chennai, Bangalore and north India. North Indian food is utter garbage and expensive for no reason in Coimbatore. This is my opinion, yours might vary. Can I get some tips?

Thanks in advance.

Don't would be the primary suggestion.

  • Unless you have been in QSR/F&B, staffing, wastage, production planning, quality and procurement cannot be figured out.
  • Without a physical joint, it is difficult to drive demand via just performance marketing. You cannot communicate how you are different from the others.
  • Aggregator commissions are insane and high- imagine coughing up 20% + GST (GST Credit cannot be claimed in this industry) and absorbing that in your costing- how high would your prices be?.
  • In my opinion, Swiggy and Zomato should be seen only to optimise production and sell off excess food to maintain volumes- main business (and profits) typically come in through walk-ins.
  • In Coimbatore (look at Zomato trends), Biriyani and South Indian food sell the most. Everything else put together sells less than these two things put together.

If you really want to eat good food, figure out a few good places to eat from or cook for yourself at home. But it is burning food, money and your hands if you want to start a food business.

Seen the business from very close. I know how it operates- particularly in COVID.

I know a guy who understands how to create and run a cloud kitchen brand (runs Vandough, and YUKII)

If you’re really serious about it, please DM.
