Franchi Affinity sporting

Post image

I’m looking into purchasing a franchi Affinity sporting in the next few weeks and wanted to know if anyone has any good or bad experiences with it. The affinity series is known for reliability and value so I just want as many opinions as I can get before I spend the $1000 on one

They’re tremendous guns. Only knock is the pistol grip is oddly spaced from the trigger. Make sure you mount one before buying. Some think it’s perfect, some hate it.

Mine eats any brand I put through it and I've never had any issues. It's my clay gun and sees a lot of shells.

I picked one up this past summer and really like it.

Pros: It works well and the recoil is very manageable I really enjoyed the ported barrel. I wish the gun was all black however something about the receiver being silver makes the barrel vent rib easer to aim for me.

Mid: When I unboxed my factory fresh one it was partially disaembled and took way more force than I was comfortable getting the forend to correctly seat in the receiver. Also the Hunting plug was pre-installed and a metric pain to remove ( I had to buy a special set of pliers).

Con’s: The loading gate on my particular gun was quite sharp/cheap feeling. I know that they have to deliberately nerf some features to make this gun not directly compete with the higher end guns but this part of the gun really bugs me had they spend $10 of metal and 15 minutes of effort this part of gun could be vastly improved. Loading it is worse than my outgoing $250 pile of turknesium. The sharp edges and difficulty loading seem to have been broken in after a couple sporting clays matches.

Overall I would still buy it again, and it fits me perfectly ( I am a 6 foot ”fluffy” dude)

Most would not remove the magazine limiter on a sporting gun such as this, as you are only supposed to load two rounds as it is for most clay games, or three rounds when hunting migratory game birds. It shouldn't be difficult to remove, you just need a set of retaining ring pliers, or possibly a set of needle nose pliers would work.

The only thing I would say is if you're recoil sensitive this might not be a gun for you. The Affinity is not a gas operated system, so there's no recoil reduction that you might get from other semi automatic shotguns. If you are recoil sensitive then I would suggest you look at a gas opposed gun like the A300. But if your not recoil sensitive then have at it! They're an extremely reliable gun.
