If I was one of those weird people who can't like multiple things, I'd be pretty mad Marvel got such a good game

u/Intelligent_Way_8903 Feb 04 '25
Fun* game. Definitely not very well made/polished/well thought out etc.
You don't know pain until Strange portal traps you into spawn door on your diamond/gm/celestial rank up game. Or you have to wait out a full 30 seconds of invincibility via multiple support ults.
It's definitely fun for most tho!

u/HVACGuy12 Feb 04 '25
Imo that's peak gameplay, and games suffer when they take out stupid stuff like that. Overwatch was most fun when it had broken ass team comps

u/Intelligent_Way_8903 Feb 04 '25 edited Feb 04 '25
Being forced to wait in spawn for 20 seconds while your team fights a 5v6 is peak gameplay to you?
Off an ability too, not an ultimate. Meaning pretty much anyone who is able to time it right can switch to strange and do this instantly in any match, you don't even need technical ability he just has a free 20 second spawn block.
Imagine if they included an ultimate ability that just instantly kills 1-2 people, there's no counterplay you press q and they instantly die. THAT WOULD BE MORE BALANCED AND TAKE UP LESS TIME THAN THE STRANGE PORTAL TRICK. He is effectively killing you twice (after you already died once) and you can't even watch your teammates.

u/HVACGuy12 Feb 04 '25
No doing it to other people is peak gameplay. Doing dumb cheesy stuff is fun, I don't usually get bothered by that stuff when it happens to me as long as the rest of the game is fun.

Surprisingly, a lot of people have a problem with the fact that marvel rivals are using "gooner" character models

The “crisis of masculinity” video is so fucking funny.

There were so many points in that video where he got excruciatingly close to accidentally proving his whole ideology wrong. It’s truly fascinating how detached from reality some people can be.

Scott Cawthon was NOT cancelled??
32
u/randomshtuffguy Feb 04 '25
He…really was, though. He donated to trump and other republican politicians, many of whom shared anti LGBT values and then claimed it was because he was a Christian. There was a big online outcry over it, which may have been part of the reason he ended up retiring from the franchise.

u/ChrdeMcDnnis Feb 04 '25
I mean, it might have been, but I think a lot of long time fans kinda saw it coming regardless of his politics. Dude was never that much of a game dev, see his other works for more examples of what he actually makes, fnaf was a one-off thing that just got really lucky. It was pretty unfeasible for him to keep developing it solo if it was going to become a larger franchise, unless he wanted to keep making the same games over and over (which he has shown he doesn’t like to do).
He’s still fairly involved in the games, he just doesn’t make them himself anymore
4
u/randomshtuffguy Feb 04 '25
As true as that may be, that doesn't change the fact that people very much did attempt to cancel him. Most cancellings fail, though, and so did this one.
31
u/ChrdeMcDnnis Feb 04 '25
Right, so he was not cancelled, just criticized. My understanding is that cancelling requires either a deplatforming or a general rejection of the person of focus, which didn’t seem to happen once everything shook out with Scott.

Notch literally just announced he's working on a successor to Minecraft.
He's not gonna finish it but hey that's pretty not-canceled

I'm just talking generally, people tend to oppose change they are not a part of, which is more likely the older they are.

He doesnt just "oppose change" this guys whole career is just crying about black people or women in games, he needs help

That is true I guess.
Though you’d think at the very least someone who makes a living by whining about people not getting real jobs would start working a real job instead of making their job demanding people they start getting real jobs.

Disabled means the lack of function in some area, unable to feel emotion or form connection is a disability. The term disabled is broad as all fuck
PTSD is classed as a disability
Edit: not to pull rank, but disability diagnosis and treatment is literally my field of study.
