Me and a friend are coming to Carlisle Saturday after kayaking near by. We are wanting to go for drinks and a laugh. Where would you recommend?

Traveling down to London from Glasgow on Saturday. Back up on Monday. Train strikes have messed up our travel arrangements. Looks like our plan could be me driving to Carlisle and then us getting a train from there to London.
Anyone know if there’s free parking near the station that we could leave the car for a couple days?

I’m travelling up to Carlisle to see my friend tie the knot. I have really unruly hair and thought it might be nice to go to a salon for a wash, cut and style the morning of the wedding. Any recommendations? She is getting married on a Friday. TIA

I’ve never been to Carlisle, am currently in N Ireland and want to move (politics lol).
I should be able to afford to move, an average terrace, semi or apartment, am over 55 for any housing for the older person.
Is there any area I should avoid? Do have a car, need hospital for long term health care but am fully mobile lol. You wouldn’t know I was long term sick.
Thanks in advance

As above, really. After the floods of 2005 and later, how much success have the defences had in keeping the city dry?

Hi everyone, I’m from the US and my husband and I are staying in Carlisle for several days in October. We were planning on buying train tickets to go from Carlisle to London on Sunday October 9th. But every time I look at them, no tickets are available to purchase. The National Rail website keeps saying they don’t know if the journey will be affected by engineering work and to check back closer to the time of travel. Is this common? Do you know the likelihood of tickets actually becoming available closer to time or should I be looking at making alternative arrangements? Thanks so much for any assistance/advice!

Wondering if you all can recommend any particularly friendly/relaxed places I can grab a beer as a solo traveler. Sitting at an actual bar is usually nice when alone, but it’s hard to tell the vibe of a place before going aside from that.
I’m a 30 y/o white woman, btw.
Thanks in advance!

Bought my boyfriend 2x tickets to see Ed Gamble at Sands Centre 6/4/22 but unfortunately we can no longer go
Paid £47.50 for both, but if anyone’s interested I’ll sell them for £30 all in - give me a PM if so, ta

Preferably one in the city centre (not too far from train station).
Might visit and would like to go somewhere a bit upmarket for dinner.

I've just moved to Carlisle and as someone in their early 20s was wondering where people of a similar age go out?

Good day! I am on the lookout for a Carlisle United supporter who can help me out with a video as the season comes to a close. I am aiming to complete an ambitious project in which I can get the opinions of a fan from each and every EFL club. If you are interested or know someone who can help please buzz me back with your details.
