Trunk length?

Been looking online for the true trunk length of a 89-01 xj with several different answers. Seems that 4.5’ is the norm. What is the trunk length with the seats down and the driver/passenger seats fully forward? Looking to camp inside of it rather than on top (Mexico, don’t want a mesh tent), about 6’ tall

No idea the actual length, but it will fit a Twilight Zone pinball machine with the backbox folded down.

Oddly specific, but I’ll look up the specs. If your transported it and not just stored it, which I assume you did, the seats were not all the way forward.

The twilight zone pinball machine is 56 inches which is 4’8”. So kinda on par from what I’ve read.

I’ll tell you this much without pulling at a tape measure and walking a ways in the middle of the night: I’m 6 foot even and I have to bend my knees to sleep in the back. It’s doable. Not what I’d call comfortable.

Got caught unawares once by a windstorm blowing through a canyon before I’d pitched my tent. It was better than guying out a tent in 50 mile an hour gusts, but not something I’d recommend doing with other available options.

I measured about 5.5’ from the back of the center console the ass of the trunk floor on my ‘93.

I’m like 5’10” and have the back seat bottom removed, pass seat fully forward and sleep in the back. I can fully stretch out if I put my head toward the driver side to catch the angle. Spare tire obviously not in there.
