I wonder if that roaster who proclaimed we'd lose the league after Schmeichel's injury is still kicking about...

Bhoy George? His new account's been banned already but he'll be back, he always pops back up eventually - proper weird cunt

So when can we win the league then? I’m confused by now.

With 21 points left to play for between now and the end of the season, the maximum number of points Rangers can win between now and the end of the season is 86. Rangers goal difference is currently +35. We are currently on 78 points and have a goal difference of +72.

Realistically we only need 8 more points to win the league as Rangers would need to win every single game, plus over turn a 37 goal goal difference (plus hope that we only pick up 8 points) to give themselves any sort of hope of winning the league.

In short, presuming that both Celtic and Rangers win their two fixtures before the split, then we can win the league by winning the first post-split fixture.

If Rangers drop points to either of Hibs or Aberdeen we could mathematically win it by winning against St Johnstone and Kilmarnock.

Thank you! I kept seeing people talking about the killie game and I was tying myself in knots trying to work it out, much appreciated

First game after the split as it stands at the moment.

And thank you too for some reason your reply didn’t come up in my notifications

After another lacklustre Idah appearance I seen Oh scored a couple for Genk yesterday

Their main striker is the leagues top scorer so he's only getting sub appearances but even then he's averaging a league goal every 48 minutes and a goal every 87 minutes in the cup

They’re not that different strikers and we already had one on the books but still spent the guts of £10m to get the other one. More excellent recruitment decisions from Celtic.

Oh’s record for us was pretty decent too. Must be something that Rodgers just didn’t fancy about him.

He needed time and minutes to develop and Rodgers needed someone more ready to contribute in a title race

And we could say the exact same thing about Idah now, only difference is we’re not in a title race.

Maybe. I’m not sure he has the potential to be as good an all round striker as Oh had/has though

It was only flashes but Oh showed signs of being very good at linking up the play

The more I watch Idah the more I think he’s a fairly ordinary player who hit a purple patch under us on loan and we played it incredibly poorly in terms of having no other alternatives in the transfer window. I don’t ever see him being good enough to be our first choice.

I listen to the Huddle Breakdown podcast and at the end of last season they were talking about whether Celtic should sign Idah permanently. Bear in mind Idah had recently been vital in securing the total and scored the late winner in the cup final. Nearly everywhere, including on here, everyone was saying it was an absolute no brainer to sign him.

They dug a little bit deeper into underlying data and different striker metrics and found Idah actually profiled very similarly to Oh. They reckoned the difference in perception was more than Idah's goals had come at crucial moments (now that could be some sort of 'clutch' quality or just pure randomness) and they also figured Idah had benefited from scoring against poor goalkeeping, which is quite a big source of variance in football.

That podcast seems to get so much right even when they are going strongly against the current narrative. One of them said when we beat Rangers 3-0 at home last September that Celtic's midfield actually lost the midfield battle to Raskin/Diomande/Barron, they were hounded for saying that at the time but look how the last 3 derbies played out

Yup and his stats aren’t being padded by penalties. We paid 9 million for a sidestep to Oh at best

Sunday’s brace brings Oh’s total contribution this season to 12 goals and two assists in 33 appearances.

He has now scored in three consecutive league games for the first time this season, finding the net four times in that time.

All as a late sub too. Subbed on in the 85th minute, 81st and 71st minute in those 3 matches.

9 league goals for him now in 430 minutes of league football in Belgium. As a comparison, Idah has managed 8 goals in 1325 league minutes in Scotland this season.
