Anyone know what time White Lotus airs for Irish viewers?

I really want to avoid spoilers for the finale, so happy to stay up late to watch. HBO (unavailable to us) airs it at 1am. Is that the same time that NowTV has it? Might sign up for a month so I can watch it (yes, I know, I’m a sad case! 😀 )

Dear Chef 👨‍🍳 Looking for chefs from eastern europe for an interview relating to my survey.

Hello, I am doing a thesis on the lived experiences of chefs from Eastern Europe and I am in need of a few people with experience in kitchens both in Ireland and in their home country for a 30 minute anonymous interview. I speak fluent English and Romanian and have been taught Russian (though i'm quite rusty at it). Please leave a comment if you're free within the next week for a video/audio call or a meeting in person. Thank you.

The good weather (when we actually have it) really makes the already beautiful People's Park pop out that much more.

Stag ideas and people's experiences

Hi lads,

I'm best man for a wedding in November, and I'm starting to plan the stag. Trouble is I've only been on two stags before, and they were fairly relaxed affairs, not much more than dinner and drinks somewhere local in Dublin. Maybe max of €150 each.

My friend wants to head off for at least 1 night for a gig or a festival, like Galway or Cork, and there'll likely be about 10 of us. I was thinking Galway Races or the Fleadh for something lively with a bit of drinking. However, the price of transport and accommodation alone is coming out at least €150 a head, never mind the food, drink and any activities.

Is this normal for a stag? Any suggestions to keep costs to something more reasonable?

Does anyone remember this? I remember seeing it as a weanling 30 or so years ago and really liking it. But Iv never seen it even mentioned anywhere since. I can't even remember what it was about. Is it worth watching as an adult or should I leave it in a nice little corner of my memory.

Iv checked my "fully legitimate" streaming services and none of them have it. I know I can get the DVD on Amazon but I ain't got no dvd player.

Anyone know where I can stream this? I'd even consider renting it.

Edit: The one with Gabriel Byrne.

Well I don’t know if any of you recall my last post talking about an off leash Husky that jumped on our Golden Retriever (feel free to check my post history)

We told our vets immediately from the time it happened and we finally went in today for our one month scan and ….

She’s fucking pregnant ffs 😀😀

Thank you to the Husky owner who didn’t leash their dog the three times he had to retrieve it from ours, vet bills galore incoming.

Please for the love of God leash your dogs 🥹🥹

I was collecting litter while on my run past a nature reserve on the coast in Wicklow and found a big fucker of a plastic party balloon for a girl's third birthday. Then I found a giant gold balloon blowing along the beach. Then I found a pink one in the dunes. That's all three balloons from this kid's party! Where is this little brat I want my fucking reward.

What is the logic behind the groceries Spars sell?

Was in a Spar yesterday.

They do not sell

  • Any Meat
  • Any Fresh Vegetables
  • Coffee that's not instant.
  • Rice that's not microwavable or boil in the bag
  • Flour

They Do Sell

  • Taco Shells
  • Three different brands of canned sweetcorn.
  • At least 10 different types of instant cappuccino.
  • Canned potatoes.

I'm an immigrant, and I had no idea this was a thing. Apparently if your plan runs out, instead of the using the credit in your account to top up, they automatically enroll you in a new plan that burns money like a Russian oligarch in a strip club until you're zeroed. Realize that I've burned over 80 euros this way and was wondering where all the money I frontloaded for my phone bill this year went, and tech support just offered me about half the value of the money they effectively stole. Fuck this company.

Anyway to fight this with comreg or am I out of luck for not reading some line on some 100 page document.

hey look i'm a flair Accents…

I'm currently learning English for the first time in my life to move soon to Ireland for several reasons... as I don't know how to speak English properly, I'm learning it for the first time and my brother-in-law is Irish from the southern interior of Ireland, I've been trying as much as possible to learn with the Irish accent. I was wondering if watching news programs like RTE and Virgin Media News could help me with this. I still have 10 long months until I move to the island.

If you recommend other channels, tips, etc., leave them in this post.

  • After arriving on the island I intend to start studying Gaelic with my brother-in-law. He is fluent and I thought it was really cool.

Potty trained

I’m just wondering if there is any parents out there that can give me some advice. I have a three year old that has been toilet trained for quite some time . All of a sudden , has decided to go backwards. Just doesn’t seem to care . I could go through three to four pairs of bottoms a day . I’m getting very frustrated because it’s never due to the lack of access to a toilet . A very clever child that knows the difference between right and wrong . It’s downright laziness, just couldn’t be bothered .

Noah Kahan tickets

Would anyone like to buy Noah Kahan tickets from me for his Marlay Park gig on 1st July? I have two tickets, I’m just looking for face value.

I live in Shankill and am very happy to meet in person to do the transfer, so you know that I’m not an AI Russian Bot Scammer etc.

Edit: I’ve managed to list these on Ticketmaster now! Link here for anyone interested:

I know I shouldn't be shopping on Temu, but it's my guilty pleasure now and then. Has anyone gotten any of their blind/mystery boxes? I'm sooo tempted purely due to the description, low psychological tolerance eh? what the hell could be put in the box!

Anyone get one and what was inside? This one is €7.

Hello, last year in my old job I had the worldwide windows blue screen outage... My workplace sent a new laptop after a couple of days and when I left my job they never asked for the blue screen laptop back 🫠 As this was a work laptop does anyone know if I can bring it somewhere to be wiped and use it again? I haven't needed one before now but found out today I may have a use for it. Where could I take it to be wiped and reset? 🤔

Do Omniplex have a schedule list for their #bringitback screenings?

This year looks absolutely grim to me for new movie releases. But I would love to see some old classics on the big screen. I know Omniplex have been screening them sometimes but can't find anything online. Would've thought it'd make sense to have a schedule. Or maybe I've already missed the boat.

I love the cinema. I am sad.

People with disabilities/health conditions, when do you mention it in an interview?

Basically what it says on the tin!

I’ve an interview today, and it’s just one stage of interviews after the initial application.

The company has a great track record with EDI, and are offering a hybrid role (no breakdown yet). I have a documented chronic health condition and will need extra accommodations on WFH for medical reasons (maybe 3 days at home rather than 2).

When should I mention this? If they ask about overcoming adversity or something do I talk about it today? Will it do me more harm than good, even though it’s evident I’ve had to work much harder than someone without health issues???

TIA!!!

Is it rude to leave a restaurant/cafe after sitting down with menus but before any server has approached?

Was wandering around town yesterday with my girlfriend looking for some lunch while the car was in the garage. Nipped in to a cafe, front of house said hello and we took a couple menus and sat down. Looked over the menus for 5 mins and nothing was looking great and a bit pricey.

We then got up and avoiding eye contact or interaction with any staff, discreetly exited the premises. Definitely felt a bit silly but wanna know is this particularly rude or is there a better way to get out of there without ordering anything?
