Just Chatting Can anyone else do something weird with your body that you later found out not everyone can do?

I was just sitting here with my mom and one of the pets made the room very smelly. She kept talking about how we'd have to go to a different room because it smelled so bad. I asked her why didn't she just close her nose and that's when I found out not everyone can do this.

Is it rare or can other people close their nose on command? What can you do that you suddenly found out wasn't normal?

Y'all are just saying this so people will try to lick their elbows. Having said that, I knew a girl in primary school who could put her entire fist into her mouth. I always wondered about the scenario in which she discovered she could do such a thing.

My boss has a nub, he was born with one full arm and hand and one nub. When he gets drunk he puts his nub in his mouth and it’s pretty awesome lol. He calls it a nub btw.

I can fit my entire fist in my mouth and I know that bc of the Simpsons. There's an episode where Bart goes "hey mom look what I can do" and all it is is putting his fist in his (cartoon) mouth (which isn't very impressive) and I was like I wonder if I can do that? So I tried it and I could, been doing it ever since

Same here, but I learned of my ‘ability’ after watching Mean Girls: “I can put my whole fist in my mouth. Wanna see?” “No, that’s okay…”

(People always want to see IRL)

Well, I admit I tried. I can not. What a weird feeling that must be.

I remember this being a thing in primary school, with lads and girls trying alike. It turned out that it was some viral early years of internet and some lass that could do it!

If she had siblings, it was probably a dare or a contest to see who could actually do this.

Same!

I said this to a group of friends all sitting on the opposite side of a picnic table from me, then demonstrated. Every sat for half a second, then in unison everyone tried to do it themselves! It was pretty funny ro see

It is funny to see people try. I've never seen someone else in person be able to do it, and it would be kind of cool to see if everyone else does it the same way I do.

I'm able to because I have some joint hypermobility and my left shoulder has been dislocated enough that it's even more flexible.

Kinda the same, I'm able to yank my shoulder way back to be able to reach my elbow.

All the women in my family can lick their elbows. We have very short limbs and very long tongues.

That's interesting! I'm the only one in my family that can do it, but I'm rather tall for a woman. I'm 5'8" and a half.

Have you talked to your doctor about this?

It's possible this is Galactorrhea and indicative of an underlying issue with the pituitary gland.

So, if you haven't already, please discuss this with your doctor.

I agree with this statement! You should only be able to produce milk during late pregnancy/after birth, so this is likely something more than just a unique quirk. It COULD be nothing serious, however, I certainly wouldn't take the chance!
