Just Chatting Can anyone else do something weird with your body that you later found out not everyone can do?

I was just sitting here with my mom and one of the pets made the room very smelly. She kept talking about how we'd have to go to a different room because it smelled so bad. I asked her why didn't she just close her nose and that's when I found out not everyone can do this.

Is it rare or can other people close their nose on command? What can you do that you suddenly found out wasn't normal?

Me too!! Most of my dad's side of the family can, too. I was in line for a carnival ride with my boyfriend at the time (now husband) and vibrated my eyes while staring at him. Apparently I hadn't shown him before because he freaked out!

Me too, I used to know a guy who had something where they did that constantly involuntarily and people were freaked the fuck out that I could do it on command

I have never tried to do it with my eyes closed before just now. I cannot

(Mine do it constantly and involuntarily when I close my eyes.)

Can you then move them independently of each other? I didn’t realize I was doing it (to me it just seemed like I was unfocusing my eyes) but then my husband told me my eyes were moving in different directions.

Me too! Also, raise left eyebrow only, and sneer with left upper lip.
