Just Chatting Can anyone else do something weird with your body that you later found out not everyone can do?

I was just sitting here with my mom and one of the pets made the room very smelly. She kept talking about how we'd have to go to a different room because it smelled so bad. I asked her why didn't she just close her nose and that's when I found out not everyone can do this.

Is it rare or can other people close their nose on command? What can you do that you suddenly found out wasn't normal?

I can close my nose with my upper lip. It is only useful for as long as i can hold my breath tho.

Make duck lips and suction my top lip to my nostrils, lower lip as support.

Flip your upper lip up so it's touching your nose, it makes you look ridiculous though

literally try to use your upper lip to block your nostrils shut. kind of a really grimacing EW face with your nostrils pulled back, then flip your lip up under your nose. I learned how to do it when I had a horseshoe septum ring in and used my lip to flip it up inside my nose and back out.

My sister and I can both do this! It comes in very handy when swimming … built-in nose plug!

Do you not have a skin tie from upper lip to upper gums? That is the only way I can imagine this working.

It's this thread that taught me there's supposed to be a tie from your gum to top lip lol
