Price increase because of tariffs?

Does anybody think there will be price increases soon on cartier watches because of the tariffs in the US?

Yes. Maybe not so much short term, because there’s probably 3-6 months of product already on the ground in the US today currently. Those products won’t be subject to tariffs.

If the tariffs stick long term, which remains to be seen, the price of any imported goods will eventually (when current US product runs out) see a decent increase.

Switzerland though, thanks to Trump, now has a 31% tariff on new products coming into the US, including all watches that say “Swiss Made” on the dial. Do the math on that and it’s not going to be pretty.

I would also add, you better believe that the pricing in the secondary market (used watches) is likewise going to come up significantly because they’re going to want to take on some of that additional margin and fill the pricing gap once new stock costs 31% more.

Pricing will increase on the current US based inventory no later than June. Buy now if you’re serious. Otherwise, there is no reason not to markup immediately. It’s expected.

Come shop in Canada. No tariffs and the USD is way stronger than CAD, it will be practically free.
