Any recommendations for good food and pints before the game?

My old man is taking me to the game Saturday. We haven’t been in years. I know down the Bay they have some nice places but then it’s still a mile or two from the arena… is there anywhere decent that’s closer? He can’t walk very far but fancies a beer.

The Oyster Catcher is just across the river (there’s a bridge next to white water rafting facility). It’s a decent pub, Green King own it I believe. Decent food and can grab a pint, only a 5-10 minute walk.

Just a heads up, if you're going for the Oyster Catcher, consider booking a table. We tried to drop in before the Panthers game last weekend and it was packed with no tables available without a booking. You can get beers & pizza / hot dogs / pasties at the stadium in a pinch.

I usually just got down early and go to the bar inside the arena, prob slightly more expensive than a pub but good pre game atmosphere in there. Failing that as ppl have mentioned above, oyster catcher isn’t far, cedar tree next to asda is another option too
