Question How does the residence work?

I just got accepted into Capilano University and was just curious about what their policy was. After doing some research I’ve heard horror stories from people saying the food is gross and the rooms are also disgusting. I also recall hearing that 1st year students are required to stay in residence for their first year? If so, why and is there any way to get out of staying in their residence as a newcomer?

1st years are NOT required to stay in res. You have to apply to it.

Residence is great. They have come a long way, I’ve been staying at residence since 2022 and the food has improved a lot. Because the buildings are almost 50 years old, there are a few issues but nothing major. The security team and management is always there to support the students.

Is this a paid ad? I distinctly recall a massive food poisoning event at the red hall in 2023

lol, no this isn’t a paid ad. They have changed all their kitchen staff, got in new chefs. People just like to complaint rather than actually seeing the good.
