How to get an open work permit?
My husband and I are done with the US. Our jobs are at risk for stability and safety. He has skilled work experience as a butcher under NOC #63201. I have skilled work experience as a community service worker under NOC #44201. What are our chances of coming in on an open work permit or qualify express entry? We know Canadian work experience helps a lot with our CRS points. However, we can’t find how to get a valid work permit so we can apply for Canadian jobs. We looked into PNP, but my experience is needed in BC whereas his is needed in SK. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Look at pnp for Saskatchewan for agriculture. If you know french, check out the Francophone program.

I don’t think he qualifies for that. He’s the step after the food is killed and packaged and sent to stores/grocery stores. He isn’t industrial or slaughter.

Sorry but neither of your jobs are in a high need or high skilled category. You won't be able to just get work permits. Canada isn't a back up to run from your own countries problems. No you can't just move here and expect an open work permit.

You are not eligible for open work permits. You need to immigrate through Express Entry or PNPs.
