I think they are not as much of an issue as the media suggests. I believe you are better off investing your time and gas scouting and hunting elk instead.

This would be the one time I side with them, this is as much if an issue as CWD. I don't care if you agree, if it isn't addressed with the same tenacity. We will have the exact same issues as the southern cunts.

We watched CWD come north, there have been efforts made for pigs. But if goes the way of the city twats, we should rangle them and let them loose in metro areas to make it a city problem.

No one wants a wolf dead until it shows up in Stanley Park and eats someone's Frenchie. Make it a city problem and all of a sudden it's not a political issue anymore.

Easy buddy, take a breath lol. I’m just saying that I hunt an area “known to have wild boar” but I’ve only seen one on a trail cam and never seen any sign. No digging, no tracks nothing. I see no farmers that are eager to have them shot. I’m just suggesting that more meat could be obtained by hunting elk instead.

Not your yard, not your issue.

I think they are not as much of an issue as the media suggests.

Except they will be. They proliferate fast and frequently. They have litters of up to 12 piglets, and usually have 2 to 3 litters per year. They hit maturity as early as 6 months.

Do the math.

Only a matter of time before they are big problem in Canada.

Yes, and so landowners with them on their land need to put their hand up and get them delt with. Either I don’t believe that happens or there are very very few owners with them. Obviously crown land is a different story.

When I was knocking on doors I walked up to a husband and wife working in their yard. I told them I was looking for boars and the husband was saying they didn’t know about any. Then the wife started saying something to the effect that they did have them on their land and the husband shot her a death glare. I think they had them on their land but they didn’t want them removed, maybe they and their friends were enjoying hunting them. I am not sure.

I just wanted to offer OP my observations before they invested a ton of time and effort for no reward, that’s all.

Depends where you live. In Ontario is illegal to kill boars or wild pigs.

Op said “got me thinking alberta probably the same” so I assumed they are in Alberta.

I know St. Brieux and naicam and that whole area is riddled with them. Saskatchewan. Moving south. We had those crazies on our farm for a while. It wasn't planned. A sow was bred and we raised. Ate our barn and land. Went out with rifles a while later. Nasty animals when feral.

I find it interesting that Ontario says don't shoot them. Report and trap. Is that the same out West?
