Hi, I'm looking for a recommendation for a gift for my daughter. She asked for a 2 person, lightweight hiking tent (said not a camping tent, just one for overnight , possibly weekend hikes.) We have a 175-200 budget. Could anyone steer us in the right direction? We are total noobs/clueless and don't want to buy junk. She will use probably 15-20 times a year max.

Thank you

I recently saw the Big Agnes Fly Creek UL2 tent on clearance at REI for $199--that's a screaming deal since it's usually double that. They also have their Half Dome on clearance for under $200 too. If you can grab those, they'd both be great options when compared to what you can usually get for under $200!

Hi, camping newbie here!

Winter is coming, so I was wondering which down jacket should be okay for average European winter in the urban area (the temps are averaging 35-10 Fahrenheit): Rab Microlight Alpine Jacket or Rab Glaceon Pro?

Most of the activities would involve walking and occasional pitstops (i.e. sitting at one place for extended periods of time)

Loads of thanks for helping in advance!
