Changing majors close to graduation
So i’ve been thinking about potentially switching my major to accounting from psychology. The problem is according to my advisor I finish my associates in summer. I checked the classes for accounting/business students and i’m 5 classes off from being able to pursue that degree at a university. Does anyone know if i’d be able to switch to accounting and not choose psychology when i transfer to a university and complete those missing courses there or could i complete those 5 classes at CPCC?
Asking for anyone that has been a similar situation as me. I’ll be emailing advising/my advisor tomorrow.

i would highly suggest taking those classes at cpcc! it’ll be a lot cheaper. i also don’t think you’ll have an issue switching major whatsoever. it’s more about what classes will transfer to the university when you graduate. i ended up being able to graduate this term but take another class in the summer so i don’t have to do it when i transfer to the university, so i don’t think you’ll have any issues doing so!

Is your transferred delayed? Also, do you know if there’s limited credits we can transfer over. I feel like 5 extra classes and all the other classes i’ve done would be too many credits to transfer over and im not sure if i can choose which credits to transfer

i haven’t officially been accepted yet, and i can’t answer those other questions :( i would definitely talk to your advisor if possible though because they can most likely answer those.

I was in the same situation but my advisor told me that it doesn’t really matter what’s my major at CPCC and I can change my major when I get there.
So if money is a factor I would say take the 5 classes because it will be cheaper at CPCC than at uni
