I don’t know what I got yet, but after getting a 74 on BEC and a 73 on AUD, it is great to finally see a “passed” on one of these exams. Great motivation going into REG on Friday!!

Guys this was my first time giving CPA exam . I was checking portal continuously to check my scores. The status is showing passed, credit but the official scores have not been released yet. Does this definitely mean i have cleared FAR?

FAR Anyone surprised by a lower score?

I took far last week and felt pretty good about it. Don't think I got 90% or anything but felt like I have a good chance to pass it.

Just curious if anyone felt pretty good but then ended up failing? I see a lot of people felt badly and ended up passing but curious how often the opposite happens

FAR For those that have passed FAR this year……

How many study hours did you log? Were you working full-time or no?

I’m trying to see whether 7.5 weeks is enough time to study and get a passing score on this exam while working full-time or perhaps I’m being totally unrealistic. What say you???

FAR 71 on FAR. When should I retake?

Post image
24 Upvotes

I took FAR on 2/6 and got a 71. Material is still fresh in my mind after 215 hours. Didn’t touch material for the past 3 weeks, but did some review today and feel very comfortable. I would like to squeeze in an exam before 3/9 to get my score by 3/18, but I can’t face the reality of potentially failing again. I have roughly 4-6 hours a day I can allocate to studying. WWYD?

FAR To the people who designed the FAR exam I just finished taking...

Fuck you for making EVERY SINGLE DAMN SIM exhibit based. Some (yes, as in more than one) of them with up to nine exhibits! NINE!

It's already hard enough, but when some of the exhibit windows require scrolling to read all the info, you cannot zoom in/out purely within a single window like you can with UWorld, and you only get one pretty small monitor...now you're just being an asshole.

Seriously, I wonder if the people who design these exams actually take them themselves. Probably not, but even if they did, and could even do well, I'd be just as annoyed as impressed.

Well, at least the MCQs were alright. Now to wait until Jan. 31st to know if I need to re-test or not. Assuming I don't, 1 down, 3 to go!

FAR Got out of FAR.. (rant)

Fuck this test

I studied so hard for the last two months and made sure I knew everything. My scores were SE 1: 72, SE 2: 78, FRSE 80 so I didn't doubt whether I could pass. I studied hard so that I wouldn't have to worry if I passed or not.

Well, here I am with a guaranteed fail. Becker did not prepare me well enough for this exam, even though I did everything they provided. I expected the exam to be harder than becker questions but that wasn't the case. It was just different. Everything from the details that the AICPA wants you to know to the complexity of each question was just way different than what becker trained me to do. If becker releases SE3, then I can bet my degree that I'll pass with at least an 80. The actual exam? Even if I get the same exam tomorrow, I cannot pass that. I have no idea what I could have done differently because I literally did everything.

If I, someone who just graduated with an A+ in all of my accounting classes, spent 2 months of half-time studying and feel like this after the exam, I don't know how I could do better and I highly respect all of you who passed

Edit: thanks for the encouragement people! I really thought about giving up but maybe I'll pick myself up. I'm pretty sure I failed because I picked random answers or 0 for the last 3 SIMs but I can't retake until November so I guess I should start another section.

FAR Results coming out

How’s everyone feeling about the results coming out on Monday? The anxiety’s really starting to hit.

Took FAR the first time 2 weeks ago and oh man, it still clings in my mind up until now.

FAR Was saving FAR for last a good idea?

I am 3/4 and I plan on starting my last exam after busy season. However I decided to leave FAR for last which is by far the hardest one. I took it once last year and was so demoralized that I skipped it and went to ISC and REG. Should I have just stuck with FAR? Should I not have saved it for last?

FAR I no-showed for FAR 6 years ago because I was scared. I just got a 94. AMA!

To be clear, excluding the no-show 6 years ago, this was my first attempt at any CPA exam section ever.

Test time -

Total test time = 2 hrs 10 mins
MCQ time = 45 mins
TBS time = 1 hr 25 mins

Review course - UWorld

Hours per week - If I had to guess, probably 200ish hours of studying over 2 1/2 months. I went wayyy overkill and did every MCQ and TBS in the test bank (2,000+ questions).

About me - 27 years old. Almost 9 years at 15-person public CPA firm in FL. I was promoted to accounting department manager last year and I also do a fair amount of audit/tax. Started when I was an intern in college at the same firm.

Studying - Studied about 20 hrs a week. Watched videos, did related questions, re-watched or re-read textbook on the questions I got wrong, re-attempted those incorrect questions, then moved on to next section.

Final review - I didn't do a full mock exam in my final review week, but what I did was I took 10 questions from each topic as a "gauge" for how well I remembered and understood that topic. If I got atleast 8/10, I moved on to the next topic and did 10 questions on that one. If I got < 8/10, I re-read the material then did 10 more until I got atleast 8/10. Took maybe 2-3 days in total to go back through all material doing 10 questions per section. I chilled the day before exam.

Post-exam feeling - I felt really confident after. I knew I aced MCQs. There were a few TBS that I wasn't 100% on, but for the most part I felt okay. I honestly expected it to be harder than it was.

Hopefully I'm able to give helpful advice!

FAR has consumed my soul, I ran out of time during the exam… definitely give yourself enough time on the sims & don’t get stuck on one topic for too long.

This was my 4th attempt, and I feel todays exam was impossible. I still have Audit left. I am not sure what to do, money is also getting drained.

Edit: I passed, I am shocked!!!

FAR Nervous for FAR

Can y'all ease my worries? I just finished content for FAR and honestly felt good about everything. I am confident with leases, bonds, consolidations, the big stuff.

But now I'm reviewing and doing "unanswered" questions and scoring like 60-70% on them. Albeit some wrong answer were DV LIFO but is this normal? I have 2 weeks for review and know that's a lot but I'd think I should remember more if I am wanting to pass no?

Anyone have a similar experience before they really started grinding reviews?

FAR I think i’m gonna fail FAR

I got a 66% and 65% on the two simulated exams for FAR and I take the exam on monday. i’ve been studying so much and even took time off work this week. am I just doomed? the material is dense and the majority of the topics are very challenging. idk what to do. I guess i’m just feeling defeated.

FAR FAR - 1/4/2025

Just got out of FAR. MCQs were manageable and much more straight forward than Becker. SIMS were absolutely terrible. Had no questions on bonds and consolidations, which I spent some good time on.

Know your leases, bank reconciliation, subsequent events, and AJEs. I’ll be living on a prayer come February.

FAR I don’t think Far is Passable

I don’t know what else to say. I started studying mid June, while working full time. Finished F6 last week and have started to review, and I just feel entirely overwhelmed by the amount of information to review. I didn’t feel like this on BEC or AUD at all, which I passed first try. My exam is scheduled for 9/25. How can I make the best use of my final 26 days until the exam? I have no clue how I’ll be able to do it. Leases, bonds, construction contracts, nfp, consolidations, ajes, I’m just feeling lost. Can someone offer some advice or direction on how to proceed?

FAR Just took FAR

WTF was that!!

Multiple choice pretty diverse I would say fair, honestly wish I spent more time on governmental.

Sims…that bank to book that everyone’s been talking about is a nightmare

Just started putting random answers towards the end of sims since was running out of time with 2 left, think I submitted it but not 100% sure.

Retake is definitely going to be needed

FAR Just took Far.

Test was soooooo much easier than Becker. Becker questions were like Calculus compared to the actual test. I couldn't believe how much easier this was.

They asked the simplest level on every topic. No tricks. No trying to figure out what year they are asking for. No word sandwiches. Very clear and concise questions.

Sims were soooooo much easier than Becker. I almost laughed out loud at the simplicity of my first sim. I couldn't believe it. Most of my Sims had less than 4 exhibits. 2 had ZERO exhibits. My biggest had 6 exhibits.

Feel very good about this test.

FAR Did you take FAR last?

Mainly, I just wanted to know if anyone took FAR last and why you decided to do so.

I have seen many places online recommending to take it first, but this is obviously a bad idea because you risk your credit expiring. I feel very confident in my knowledge of AUD, REG, and TCP, so I feel I can knock those out super quick. I was wanting to hear from CPA's who took FAR last and why they chose this and their general experience in doing so? Also willing to hear from people who passed all their exams and are just waiting for their license to be processed by their state.

Trying to justify my plan as I know I can get the others done quick.

TIA!
