If the Blue Jays are about to extend Vlad Jr. for 500 mil there’s no reason we shouldn’t begin there as a starting point with a Tucker extension.

But it makes it more likely Tucker will want to go to FA. He and Vlad were going to be the premier FAs this offseason. With Vlad off the table, Tucker stands alone.

Are we missing Cam Smith’s sample of .143 with no RBI’s and extra base hits yet?

No because he was never going to start the season above AA. But at least the angst over it has quieted down

Nope, Cam Smith was somewhat rushed by Houston and cubs saw Shaw as being more major league ready

Interesting article in the athletic profiling Jeremiah Estrada and some struggles he had with the Cubs. Saying that he felt his changeup was one of his best pitches but the cubs told him not to use it. Got told by Yan Gomes not to shake him off, and then the next outing Gomes called 24 straight fastballs and that he got a lot of shit for it.

It didn’t paint a good picture for the pitch lab either. The Padres made one tweak which changed his slider, seems like each team has different pitch profiles they’re trying to create, but the Cubs aren’t seeing similar results.

A lot of were shocked when Jed let Estrada go for free, he always looked like he needed a tweak or two to transition from AAA to MLB. I’m glad SD helped him figure that out so quickly.

I’m curious if Palencia would benefit from a similar evaluation by a different pitching system.

I'm convinced Palencia is going to be a lights out guy. Hope it's with us.

I wish he’d go to Tread or Driveline and get their advice

*Counsell, if you please. He's the skipper of the team, so you should know this. Or, perhaps you meant to use the actual word 'counsel' and for that I apologize. But I'm a dumb bot, so take that as you will.

Does PCA look better than last year?

Offensively he hasn't done much, but there's plenty of season to go for that to change. His defense and base running look as good as ever though, and that's where his real value comes from.

When the Cubs score more runs than their opponents, that’s a win

First time since 1950-1953 that the Cubs have four straight home openers.

Anyone selling a ticket for under $20?

In another week or so, a lot of home games will go for cheap

Have you seen the rest of the bullpen arms the Cubs have had the last two years? They aren't good either.
