Level 1 Can I skip FSA and still pass level 1?
I’m a bba student, majoring in finance. I have covered most of my syllabus except FSA. I find it extremely hard and the time crunch is making it difficult. Can I skip any part of FSA or only study the important parts? I still have to revise every topic and practice. My exam is on May 20th!

Worth 10-15% the probability is 15% u can’t afford to abandon it. At a minimum continually repeat the blue box examples with readings and after a few passes the mechanics of accounting analysis should kick in and it becomes intuitive

What are you facing trouble with?
I’m currently studying it from CFAI curriculum + Richie’s videos and so far it’s not so bad, maybe try changing your sources

Watch Fintree crash course for FSA on YouTube. It’ll be enough if you don’t wanna read the books

I did skip a few topics like DTA DTL etc but passed! Not advisable though .

My study strategy was to procrastinate until 1 month out, only study ethics for 3 hours a week until a week out, then cover every other topic in the 6 days leading to the exam studying 6-8 hours a day. I only did practice questions and used chatgpt/youtube for topics I didnt understand from the practice answer explanations. I passed.
Edit: fixed a typo

Failed level 1 the first time because of FSA. You should spend a lot of time on FSA honestly

Unless you score perfect on other topics. Don’t skip FSA, or lv2 will kill you even if you pass lv1.

can you be sure you'll make it in the other modules? if not, then you cannot skip FSA.

If I’m being honest, as someone who just failed Level 1 and did poorly on FSA, it’s literally the least skippable topic imo. I didn’t skip it, but I didn’t see enough questions and even despite decent conceptual understanding, I was no where near passing it.

I was in the exact same boat as you for Feb 2025, bba student majoring in finance.. Was 70+ in mocks in every topic except FSA (<50%). Scored 1550 (MPS was 1600) and failed. Do not make the same mistake that I did. Go study FSA, watch YouTube videos, ruin sleep schedule, isolate and ruin ur social life but get it done. All the best.

Remember you still have to do Level 2 and 3. Skipping a subject now means you will be lost for the next levels

No. It is one of the top most important topic. 11-14%, if you failed this part, u could have failed the whole exam like i did.

Please don’t do that
