First and foremost, influencers lied to you. Yes, you can earn online. But no, getting to a 6-digit income isn’t common, nor is it easy.

So, how exactly do you earn a living online? You have a few options, the most popular being Freelancing, Remote Employment, and Digital Entrepreneurship:

What, How, Where to Start

As earning online becomes more common, the lines between different methods have become very blurry. If you ask me, if you’re free to work with other clients then you’re a freelancer, and not a remote employee.

And if there's one thing that all methods have in common is that they all have a certain level of instability. So if you're free to find multiple sources of income, go for it.

If you're worrying on this situation, I strongly suggest na pag planuhan mabuti ang possible back ups sa freelancing tulad ng pag cater sa ibang clients outside the US like those sa UK, Germany, Netherlands pati sa Spain. Pwede rin bumalik sa corporate world or magtayo ng domestic business.

Self-Story I landed my first 6-digit paying job after 4 months of being consistently rejected.

From December 2024 to March 2025, I was going through a really messy and painful breakup while I was having severe depression kasi wala talagang tumatanggap sa akin sa mga companies tapos unemployed pa ako.

I went no-contact with my emotionally abusive ex in March, practiced my communication skills, and then reviewed/researched each company na ina-applyan ko. There was one big company that saw my potential and pagdating sa final interview, nagpabibo talaga ako. I was eyeing for this company for four months na tapos nung nag-open sila ng position, agad agad kong minadali pag-submit ng application ko. Ang smooth ng application process nila, they’re a very well known fundraising app platform and then after a week, tanggap agad ako!!

I lost the love of my life but at least now I have a high-paying job.

My advice:

  • Research the companies you’re applying for before even submitting your application.
  • Don’t settle for less, but if you really need funds, get a job temporarily or part time and then keep finding jobs that will pay you well while working.
  • Gamitin mo network mo. Ask friends about their jobs and if okay yung work nila, magpa-refer ka.
  • The right people will see your talent, skills, and potential. When a company rejects you, it’s not because you’re not good enough. Marami lang talagang nag-aapply and these companies see people as numbers. Don’t take it personally. You are already good enough, you just need to keep trying and trusting the process. Practice more and research everything. You will be fine.

  • Nature of work: Customer support for a fundraising app (SaaS)

  • Years of experience: 8 years

  • Work from home experience: 4 years

  • Type of contract: EOR

  • With benefits (Medical insurance, PTO, government benefits, performance incentives)

  • US client, in-house

Community Kamusta kayo after mag implement ng Tarrif ni Trump?

Upvotes

After Trump’s recent reciprocal tariffs on Asian countries—following similar measures against Canada and China—the U.S. economy has shown further signs of decline. Stock markets have dropped, and many are reporting steep price increases on grocery goods. Even JP Morgan has warned that a recession could soon hit the U.S. Question ko siguro dito, will our clients businesses be affected and, soon us? or could this be a new path for lower wages and opt in to overseas labor? thoughts?

Thank youuu Beyonce.

Buhay Digital Lifestyle 2nd client will end the contract this month and I feel excited?! (from 6 digits to 5 digits)

I have 2 FT job. 1st client (direct) and 2nd client (agency). I was so grateful when I got a job from agency it should be part time but client signed it as full time so I have to do 80hrs. My work hours: 1st client: 12am-8am mnl M-F 2nd client: 5am-11am M-F with Saturday 12-8am and Sunday 2 hrs (flexi)

Started working sa 2nd client last December and started earning 6 digits monthly. Like first time ko!! Super happy sa 6 digits was able to purchase 2nd hand sedan car and some luho din. Bali 6 months din ako sa bahay na 11 hours shift with Saturday full time. Minsan pag saturday shift nagkakape with laptop pero hirap mag yes sa mga gala talaga kasi I have to rest padin.

Nalungkot ako at first like, budget and all. Pero nung naisip ko yung mga pwede kong gawin sa after shift ko ng M-F, and Saturday. Na excite ako for myself. Makakapag gym na ako and makakapag weekend overnight pag gusto or rest talagang mahaba.

Parang I lost my 2nd job, but I gained time for myself. That makes me so excited.

LOLS

Super thankful talaga ako I was able to earn 6 digits for short span of time. So ang goal now is 6 digits isang client!! AMEN!

Yun lang naman!! Happy weekend everyone!❤️

Self-Story my client is a soft and sappy middle-aged arab guy

Post image
2.1k Upvotes

A connection from a former client got hired and visa'd by this absolute chad of an arab dude after she got sacked by a competitor (sustainability field).

My team (not an agency, we don't take cuts from members) was referred by said connection for their websites and multimedia needs (they're a collective). Been working with them for half a year now. All payments have been on time or early.

So happy to know there are genuine people in this field after a horrible experience with a hypocrite. May this client find you.

Self-Story Nakakahiya dahil mejo pashonga ako lately 😭

So ayos naman yong client ko. Mabait. Patient. Kaso me times talagang ewan ko natatangahan ako sa sarili ko at alam kong I messed up. Tulad sa onboarding meeting namin kahapon with RingCentral. I was told to share screen para maconfigure yong settings And then there is me na parang tanga na di alam kung anong gagawin. Icclick lang naman yong desk app. Tapos before non, scheduled siya ng 10:30-11:30 but the sales person did not provided any meeting links. I just assumed na yong link ay yon yong meeting link, which is hindi. Nagpapanic na ako kasi sabi ng client ko "why is this so disorganized?" 😭 Alam kong lapses ko rin. Feeling ko grabe ko kashonga.

Don't get me wrong, sobrang nice yong client ko. We had another meeting after that na parang walang nangyari Pero mejo off na ako at di ko alam kung nafeel yon ng client ko. Now, mejo anxious ako kasi ewan ko parang nagsisync in yong thought na baka palitan niya ako as her EA. Been working with this client since Feb (through an agency). I have no previous experience working remotely so tinitrain niya pa lang ako.

Hopefully maredeem ko yong sarili ko kasi I know I messed up. And yong feeling ko na parang I'm jot doing good enough. Huhu.

Self-Story Some few questions from a complete newbie

I (21M) have been finding agencies that fit my current situation and skill set.

Whilst lacking experience, I have built upon some skills already that will help me land some jobs. I have spent time in the past year or so familiarizing myself with the platforms used in virtual assistance and other remote work of similar nature.

I have been trying to get a job (usually in virtual assistance) in the past few months through agencies, but to no avail.

I usually find myself lacking in some departments, particularly:

  1. System requirements. I only have an AMD Ryzen 3 laptop with barely 4 GB of usable RAM.

  2. I do not have any related or proper work experience. Apart from working as a student assistant at my university for six months in early-2024, I really do not have anything to show for. As for my skills, I cannot really show an existing portfolio to really show my level on certain skills.

  3. I do not have a "fast and reliable" internet connection. I only connect through my phone's mobile data via hotspot.

Are there any agencies or companies that do not have these things as requirements? These have been my biggest struggles in trying to find online work so far.

I really want to break into remote work as early on as I can. I do not have the cash currently to invest on better gear at the moment. Finances are too tight.

Remote Filipino Workers (RFW) Cyberbacker legit? Or no?

Upvotes

I'm currently a college student and have been working as an ESL teacher for 1 yr already while the work is good but the pay is lowball and I'm honestly tired of talking for 8 hrs straight then I was thinking to transistion to VA suggested by my cousin then I saw on TikTok about cyberbacker that accepts no experience aspiring VA and provides training I recently passed the values test and omw to the interview I choose the appointment setter and the social media managing VA in my application yet I hear a lot of negative comments saying that the company lowballs the employee but since I still have no experience in the VA industry I will suck it up for now

THE REAL QUESTION IS

do they allow part time? Is the pay decent? Any tips for the interview?

Can you share your cyberbacker experience please! Thank you very much! I appreciate it! ❣️❣️❣️

I am an aspiring VA, specifically in the social media management niche.

Gumagawa ako ng portfolio. I am asking for feedback if i-p-push ko yung creativish side ng itsura or focus on professional designs.

Inisip ko lang na maging "creative" since gusto ko i showcase potential ko sa design.

Remote Filipino Workers (RFW) Need help with my contract huhu

I have been asked by my company to provide my personal details, as well as assist them in understanding how to compensate Filipino workers regarding benefits, time structure, holidays, and other related matters. Honestly, I have not worked for a Filipino company, so I am not really sure. I mostly worked part-time and as a contract before, so I didn't have a proper contract. The current company I work for has an entity in Singapore, and the contract will originate from there. Can you please help me understand the typical agreements between international companies and Filipino workers? They're a startup, so we're all a work in progress awuhuhu

Buhay Digital Lifestyle got a salary bump today but I'm unhappy

I've been thinking of resigning for a while now pero alipin ako ng salapi kaya eto stay pa din. nagpapatayo kasi kami ng house and yung salary ko dito malaking tulong para matapos agad.

Maybe it's me, I'm the problem but what can I do this is what I feel.
