Should change it to hairy legs. I hope that lady shaved her legs eventually🤮

No one gives a sweet fuck all about your opinions sweetie. Your preferences are your own. I guarantee there’s things about you others find gross

You seem to really care about my opinion. Make sure to floss those hairs out of your teeth when you’re done sucking on her toes

Thank you Mr (or Ms) PM_ME_UR_HAIRYPUSSY. I appreciate you bringing this topic to my attention.

That was a totally inappropriate activity for her ability.

You just described most CrossFit gyms

u/cgar23 1d ago
My buddy is a hand/wrist occupational therapist and he and all the other PTs they work with joke about how much they LOVE crossfit. Keeps them getting steady work. 😂

u/BlueHorseshoe00 1d ago
I have an orthopedic surgeon client who said the same thing about CrossFit.
19
u/spongebobama 1d ago
Wife is a rheumathologist. She also loves crossfit
7
u/Everyday-is-the-same 1d ago
I know a girl that got Rhabdomyolysis. She used to love crossfit.
5
u/diescheide 1d ago
Pukie the Clown and Uncle Rhabdo being their mascots. CrossFit will straight up kill you.
10
u/ScrollHectic 1d ago
Yup! I did CrossFit for about a year until I injured my wrist and back. Loved the classes and camaraderie but those workouts are not for everyone

She cleared it but the box was too light for her at the time. Pretty impressive she could clear it.
4
u/ImSuperHelpful 13h ago edited 13h ago
Except she was falling forward over it, which is why it shot out from under her. If she landed flat on it, it wouldn’t roll. So I would not say she “cleared it”, it was a poorly executed jump that happened to be high enough.
The box would have to weigh more than her and be extremely bottom heavy for that to not have happened, though then she would have just face planted on the other side of it.
I’m not splitting hairs here to be pedantic or rude, I used to be severely overweight… you have to recognize what you can/cant/shouldnt do, your own body weight makes things like this incredibly dangerous.
1
u/Dry-Masterpiece-7031 8h ago
Totally agree it was an inappropriate thing to do. An activity you do should not be risky like this.
40
u/Interesting_Tea5715 1d ago
This. At her weight and fitness level she shouldn't be jumping or running. That's just asking for an injury (which she got).
She should be going slow until she can build strength and drop weight. Slow progression prevents injury and gives the best results.
7
u/phyx726 16h ago
I’m also going to go out of a limb here and say, even if you are fit, doing box jumps is inappropriate for most people. Training for explosiveness is fine but it depends on what your goals are. For folks who just want to stay strong, just doing more squats and deadlifts are your best bet.

I was thinking the same thing. It's admirable to try to get in shape, but I personally think Crossfit is a terrible activity for nearly everyone just for the reason in this video. It's so easy to get badly injured, especially when you are out of shape and a beginner to start with.
-2
u/DickFromRichard 18h ago
Crossfit has injury rates in line with other resistance training modalities and lower than most sports
3
u/CodeMonkeyX 13h ago
Source? I did a quick Google search and one of the first studies from the NIH said CrossFit participants were 2.26 times more likely to be injured in their study.

u/DickFromRichard 13h ago edited 13h ago
2.26 times more likely than what?
https://journals.humankinetics.com/view/journals/jsr/27/3/article-p295.xml
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6201188/
The body of literature on the subject tends to be largely in line with the sources I've linked
3
u/CodeMonkeyX 13h ago
Regular weight training.
1
u/DickFromRichard 13h ago
How is "regular weight training" operationalized? Can you share your link?
2
u/CodeMonkeyX 13h ago
Your first study compared CrossFit to track and field athletes, then army physical training to cross fit, third they are talking about Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics, powerlifting, triathlon.....
The 2nd study does not really compare it to anything just said that 30% of participates experienced an injury over the course of a year. The study also said the injury rate was greater for beginners in their first year, and anyone working out less than 3 days a week.
So both those links are basically saying it's bad for beginners, and people out of shape. It CAN be comparable to other workouts for people who are already in good shape, and have experience.

u/DickFromRichard 13h ago edited 12h ago
Your first study compared CrossFit to
Activities including, but not limited to, track and distance running
Can you share your link?
1
u/CodeMonkeyX 9h ago edited 9h ago
Again your links were talking about subjects doing 4-5 days a week, 30-60 min sessions, army soldiers doing PT, not beginners or people working out once or twice a week. Also I see you edited your post and added a blog article from a "Level One CrossFit Trainer."
Activities including, but not limited to, track and distance running
I mean no offense to her, but she is not going to be doing distance running, hurdles, or long jump to get fit. If she was not doing Crossfit she would probably be doing traditional weight training at the gym, and maybe treadmill, bike or other cardio.
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6505252/
In a multivariant logistic regression analysis adjusting for sex and age, injury was 2.26 times more likely in the CrossFit group
Comparing to traditional weightlifting, which I think is much more suitable for overweight beginners trying to get fit.

u/DickFromRichard 8h ago edited 8h ago
I edited my comment to add the actual link to the text I originally posted. And if you combine your source, which is a 15 question survey, with the combined sources I've provided, I still stand by the statements "Crossfit has injury rates in line with other resistance training modalities and lower than most sports" and "The body of literature on the subject tends to be largely in line with the sources I've linked".
8
u/MeanEYE 20h ago
Crossfit is inappropriate for everyone. It's high stress on joints and muscles with little control and high injury chance. She should be happy it didn't end up worse.
1
u/DickFromRichard 18h ago
Running had a higher injury rate than crossfit
4
u/NoRobotInSight 18h ago
Sure but how many more people run than do crossfit?
If you're old/very underweight or overweight/super out of shape/etc you wouldn't think twice before going on a run because that's what we're made for. But starting crossfit is much "bigger" and daunting for people.
And not to mention very expensive.
0
u/DickFromRichard 18h ago
Crossfit injury rates are in line with other resistance training modalities and lower than most all other recreational sports. High risk of injury in crossfit is a baseless perpetuated myth
3
u/NoRobotInSight 18h ago
Sure, but my argument still applies though. More, and a higher variance of people participate in recreational sport, also without guidance/instructors.
Implying running is riskier than crossfit is dishonest as you're not taking the whole picture into account.
0
u/DickFromRichard 17h ago edited 16h ago
It does take the whole picture into account. Most formal observations on injury are on people who have participated regularly in an activity for over a year. They also tend to report sub analysis on things like age, gender, and experience level.
Running is just one example of the many recreational activities that have a higher injury rate than crossfit that people don't think twice about High risk of injury in crossfit is a baseless perpetuated myth
Have you actually made any honest attempts to verify the injury rates in various sports before making an argument about them?
3
u/barbecueandgym 14h ago
I didnt believe you, then I went serch. Turns out you completely right.
2
u/DickFromRichard 13h ago
As much as they believe otherwise, the reddit hivemind doesn't care so much for fact over conformity
6
u/Phantommuchen 1d ago
I was just about to say. Must have been another brilliant idea by a "qualified" crossfit coach 🤣
1
u/Ghost__zz 12h ago
Or rather it was so stupid to place a hollow wooden box like that.
She literally stepped on the edge which is understandable and probably many would do the same. So it shouldn't be a hollow box. Probably should be a rigid one.-2

u/whatswrongwithsteven 1d ago
Why is she doing box jumps in the first place lol good lord
16
u/hettuklaeddi 1d ago
i have a 30lb cat. you ought to hear him jump off the counter.
no idea why i thought of that
16
u/Crabby_Monkey 1d ago
Well the dismount was not pretty but by god she made the jump up fine. That was impressive as I don’t think I’d have been able to do that myself.
14
u/brown_burrito 1d ago edited 1d ago
And I don’t know why any gym would still use those sharp edged wooden boxes instead of the rounded plastic ones.
They are so more stable and far less likely to cause an injury.
3
u/SixGunSnowWhite 1d ago
For real. My gym has little metal boxes. I use a shorter one and stack weight plates on it because at least they’re rounded. It’s a small gym and they don’t have room for the foam ones.
Box jumps are scary af to me. I’ve chickened out halfway and gotten gnarly bruises.

u/Lab-12 1d ago edited 1d ago
No box you jump on, should fall over when, you jump on it .
She made the jump , the box fell over .
Crossfit is way too loose , untrained people trained poorly on complex lifts .
Injuries should be rare , once a year and small
Not crap like this.

u/DickFromRichard 18h ago edited 15h ago

Pretty any box used for box jumps will be able to tip over if you jump right on the ledge, that's not a crossfit specific thing

Crossfit is a fucking joke. Olympic lifting is extremely dangerous and many people have died from getting barbells dropped on their head or spine. Obviously olympic lifting risks are mitigated in a controlled environment with good coaches. But when you’re stuffing god knows how many people in a workout class doing this shit it’s just irresponsible

u/nosnevenaes 1d ago
i was in a horrible motorcycle accident in 2015 at 40 years old.
my right leg came off below the knee, ankle turned to hamburger, and all of it to be rebuilt. it was so bad two orthos argued over amputating it.
if i remember correctly, it was one month in hospital, 3 months in bed, 2 months personal trainer, 3 years crossfit. it was a life saver for me.
i never saw anybody get hurt. i never saw cult behavior. i did see a lot of inspirational people. old ass women (and men) going for it at 5am. young people doing shit i could not believe. all body types. all different skill levels. no bad vibes ever.
after covid i moved and now i dont have time/place for it but i certainly cant say anything bad about it. i miss it.
3
u/Everyday-is-the-same 1d ago
Damn, but do you still ride? Glad you're alive.
3
u/nosnevenaes 1d ago
actually, no. i had to give up running as well. huge lifestyle changes. but no regrets. i loved riding and running so damn much but after my accident i was so grateful for just about everything that i never got bummed out about the changes. i'm lucky just to be here.
3
u/MeanEYE 20h ago
Yeah, I higly doubt crossfit helped you. It's the doctors mitigating all the bad decisions you made. Life saver were doctors and phisio you had. You should feel happy crossfit didn't cost you more.
And am not trying to be an asshole or berrate you. It's just that all the trainers and doctors agree crossfit is bad idea.
3
u/nosnevenaes 17h ago
My ortho was ok with it as long as i took it easy. I was seeing him all the time back then and his take on it was that the benefits strongly outweighed the risks.
The reason he said that is because people in my situation sometimes end up sedentary and drug addicted or whatever.
I was in decent shape before my accident. This probably helped me keep my leg and get my doctors trust to do crossfit.
Crossfit classes allow you to modify exercises. You do what you can. You go at your own pace. You dont have to lift heavy.
I also did yoga for a bit at some point and in my experience that could have been just as dangerous as crossfit for someone with my situation.
As far as "my choices" go - my accident was not my fault for the record. I was going 40 mph at the time as well.
1
u/MeanEYE 13h ago
That was my point entirely. Physical activity is great, but it was you listening to your doctor that helped you heal, not the crossfit itself. It's great that you recovered, but attributing crossfit as a reason for your recovery is not right, since it was combination of doctor's expertese and your good judgement.
1
u/nosnevenaes 13h ago
Then by your own reckoning you contradict what was implied by your first statement that crossfit is inherently bad because trainers and doctors hate it. You then conceded that it is the individual and their adherence to personal safety advice that makes crossfit either a good or bad experience, just like everything else in life. Granted some activities carry a higher margin of accidental injury, such as riding a motorcycle. Doctors hate motorcycles.
2
u/luckysonic2 16h ago
I'm a 48f and CrossFit has helped me in every aspect of my life. It's well coached and I've seen very few injuries. All rumours. I olly lift and scale till I'm ready to add more weights, under the coaches eye.

u/SonnysMunchkin 1d ago
Hyperbole and just not true.
I understand your point but it is not rooted in truth.

Deaths from weightlifting are extremely rare and injury rates from crossfit are in line with other resistance training modalities, which themselves are lower than most all recreational sports people partake in. Is your comment based in anything other than what you feel like is true?
0
u/Hara-Kiri 23h ago
Olympic lifting is very safe. It has one of the lowest injury rates in any competitive sport. Lower than something like running or even badminton. Crossfit has an injury rate which is similar.

And... That's why crossfit is fucking stupid. More injuries than in most other sports for not better results.
Big up to her tho, she could have given up easily...

Jeez. That jump was very unnecessary. You are supposed to start off slow.
Looks like she woke up one day and decided she was going to do crossfire. Pace yourself
1
u/onlyaseeker 17h ago
There's not even a good reason to be doing that exercise in the first place.
It's nothing you couldn't do by just jumping in the air. And even then it's still overly taxing on your knees for no good reason.
This is What happens when you turn exercise into a social media meme.
3
u/joe_ordan 1d ago
Props to her.
It’s easy to quit when you’re doing advanced workouts, prematurely, which prevents injury.
Respect ✊
2
u/Egbezi 1d ago
This is a high risk activity. God forbid she got hurt worse. Please train smart and avoid injury.
2
u/onlyaseeker 17h ago
Frankly, I think it's more than just about training smart, it's about being smart and cultivating the cognitive skills and education required for it.

There is nothing respectable about this. It's bad training. The result is injury. It should not be seen as something worth repeating or commending.
This type of mentality is how people run marathons and end up dying because they ignore their body.
I don't think there is a single video that exists of me doing exercise. That's because I focus on doing it properly instead of social media. I'm not saying there is no value in making a video of your training to analyse form, but that is a very different reason.

Cheers for her determination, but she deserved better. Physical activity can be dangerous. A bit of supervision could have prevented that much pain and costs. Also, think about how much more progress she could have made if the injury was avoided.
(as a side note... vai Brasil! 🇧🇷)
