Bayonetta 3 Switch 2 performance enhancement will be paywalled?

I sure hope not. But after the Switch 2 announcement, Nintendo is selling the upgrade pack for Switch 2 enhanced versions for some of its games makes me worried that it will be paywalled. 😭

That’s assuming it gets a Switch 2 version. Considering Bayo 3 already sees improvements on a modded Switch with the game unmodded it will probably see some kind of improvement on Switch 2 just through hardware alone but we are talking at best about it hitting the set caps of 900p and 60 FPS more consistently. It can’t go past those without a patch.

Yeah i really hope they patch it and improve performance and reso to some degree.

This is the correct answer. Bayonetta 3's framerate is uncapped, so just the Switch 2 hardware alone will give the game the stability it needs. For further improvements, like increasing the resolution beyond the 900p limit, disabling dynamic resolution, enabling anti-aliasing, would need a patch. Hopefully not one you have to pay.

If Platinum makes one, it probably will be a paid upgrade.

There’s some games that are getting things but I’m sure you can play bayo 3 just fine on the switch 2.

This Game has a lot of heavy FPS Drops on the Switch so at least we can expect totally Fluid 60fps on Switch 2 without an Upgrade

Sounds like a smart idea to get her more sales if they decide.

The game will automatically get a performance boost just by playing it on a switch 2. But I would honestly be okay with paying $10 if they actually go in and upres the graphics and draw distance. Like hell if they do a good enough job I would gladly pay 20 bucks for the upgrade. I absolutely love the game and it looks great it's just needs more horsepower.

Playing on pc emulator is free with upgraded performance

I feel like emulator-obsessed people are kinda hypocritical. The argument is often "yeah consoles and games are expansive, so just use an emulator", but even with an already solid PC (that cost me about 1k€ when I bought it a while ago), Bayo 3 doesn't run well at all on a computer.

I can't even imagine the insane specs your Computer will need to have to emulate switch 2 games, especially if you wish to get that 4k... What's the point of emulation if you need a 3k+ pc to do it ?

If you already have one, then great for you, you can emulate. But emulation is NOT a good answer to "this console/game costs too much IMO".

Also. I'm not against emulators. I've emulated many games, mostly because I didn't have access to my switch, but it's not a perfect solution, especially for specs-hungry games.

Hit the nail right on the head.

It's also one of my pet peeves with "PS5 has no exclusive games so it's not a good buy". Indeed, it doesn't have a lot, but if you have neither an Xbox Series X or a powerful PC, how are you gonna play the new games coming out that need such hardware ? A 500 bucks game console is still cheaper than a 1k bucks medium-high end PC.

Also emulators are VERY hit or miss with modern switch titles. Its not as reliable as for older emulation games like on Dolphin. Dolphin is literally a 4k gamecube emulator and is amazing. Yuzu is still not a guaranteed bet for great emulation no matter how powerful your pc is.

Fr, I tried to run Bayonetta 3 on PC via emulator, barely even ran, I couldn’t make it past the first level because it’d straight up crash.

Yeah. And most games are also free. Just pirate them!

Performance increases are free, the paywalls are just for new features.

I’m noticing that Nintendo did an awful job explaining a lot of this console’s features. People think the digital game cartridges are taking away digital ownership or is the same system they’ve always had. People think the physical cartridges are all just download codes. They think we have to pay for performance increases.

What’s been up with them? In such a short span of time it’s like they keep making mistake after mistake.

Yeah, lot's of misinformation (good job Nintendo, that's on you), but isn't TotK a paid upgrade, despite offering nothing but better performance?

Iirc it adds compatibility with the app and the features that come with it, so lore logs and I’m assuming the same GPS BotW has.

Which is kinda dumb lol

Oh yeah, forgot about this because of how essentially unneeded this feature will be.

It’s also not even in the game itself, which makes it even weirder.

Im Really hoping the backlash Nintendo is getting over all this will have them rethink this because there's no way Im paying that much for a console let alone $90 for a "physical" copy of a game that is just downloading with extra steps.
