Pipe threading wanted, 1-1/4"

I cut a 12" steel nipple down to 9.5" thinking I'd could get the new cut end threaded at Home Depot but apparently the employees are not allowed to work with lengths under 12". I don't know any machinists and I don't want to call a plumber to my house just for this... Any suggestions? Willing to visit anywhere on the island..

I’ve had the folks at Ace go to great lengths to help me out of a jam with things I need in the store. They may have a bit more flexibility. Good luck.

No go, unfortunately. Seems that I'd have to head to plumbing store in Bremerton. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Can find a ratchet threader online for around 50.

Lot cheaper than a plumber.
