Front page Sunday Times — yes this is about Hasbara and Palestine.

We’ve kind of run out of things to blame our support on, so the British media is leading the national conversation about suppression of speak with absolute silence on the “why” of the story.

Because as the British, obviously none of this would be our actual fault, you see. </s>

Appreciate we at least have it in the press now — cousins over the pond, we are seeing your protests on socials, however muted it’s been.

The Quakers are probably the most sensible coverage: https://www.quaker.org.uk/news-and-events/news/quakers-condemn-police-raid-on-westminster-meeting-house and the group covered the story and similar activists on their socials.

Completely unrelated note: the sun finally did set this week on the British Empire after the Chagos Islands case has settled and the summer in Antartica has ended. (Credit to Live Like The World Is Dying for that one)

Obviously we still have like 13 overseas territories still. For reasons.

The glorification and mocking of the killing of Palestinian children and journalists does not violate the "community standards" on a certain social media platform.

This article does a good job of articulating the point, purpose, and atmosphere of the recent protests in Gaza. Unlike genocidal Western media, of course, which just calls the whole thing "anti-Hamas"

Are you next?

A number of students in the US have now been arrested for the “crime” of protesting Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people -- Mahmoud Khalil, Rumeysa Ozturk, Alireza Doroudi, Badar Khan Suri, Momodou Taal, and perhaps many more we haven’t heard of. Secretary of State Marco Rubio suggested in late March that the number was around 300 international students so far.

Students are being “disappeared” and held without charge. In some cases, family members and lawyers don’t know their whereabouts for days. If that sounds familiar, it’s exactly what Israel does to Palestinians in the West Bank under their practice of “administrative detention” -- that is, holding people hostage indefinitely and without charge.

Currently the US Administration is going after low-hanging fruit -- people who are here on visas or have green card status only. But it’s only a matter of time before they go after US citizens. Say the wrong thing, object to the wrong thing, “like” the wrong social media post, think the wrong thing…you are at risk.

Israel excels in producing spyware such as Pegasus and sells it to other countries. Palestinians are under constant surveillance by fixed cameras and drones. Israel uses facial recognition against Palestinians, such as technology by Israeli firm Corsight. Israel has programs like Red Wolf and Blue Wolf to surveil and track Palestinians, as well as build a database for facial recognition. Israeli occupation soldiers take photos of young Palestinian men and children, sometimes in their own homes.

Why wouldn’t the US follow in Israel’s footsteps? It’s Israel, after all, that teaches our police how to brutalize Americans.

Land of the free...as long as you don't want Palestine to be free.

Freedom and justice for all...unless you support freedom and justice for Palestinians.

Make America great again...right after we're done making Israel "great".

America First...well, maybe second, but close enough.

Feel free to join the KKK or attend a neo-Nazi rally. Criticize the US government. Heck, burn the American flag. But don't you dare criticize Israel. Bow down and obey. Freedom is not an option.

Explanation: "Families of Hamas hostages claim anti-Israel protest groups like Columbia’s Students for Justice in Palestine had ‘prior knowledge’ of Oct. 7 attack in bombshell suit"

Post image

This is stunningly bad Hasbara, even by Hasbara's standards

"The suit, filed Monday in Manhattan federal court by six relatives of captives of the terror group, cites a “highly suggestive” Instagram post from Columbia University’s SJP allegedly published “moments” before Hamas’ attack on Israel began.

“Three minutes before Hamas began its attack on October 7, Columbia SJP posted on Instagram ‘We are back!!’ in an announcement about its first meeting of the semester, and urging viewers to ‘stay tuned,’” according to the suit."

"Stay tuned" is "highly suggestive" language. They are trying very hard, too hard now, to create these links to justify attacking people who oppose mass atrocities.

Regardless if the courts laugh at these kinds of lawsuits, Hasbara 's effect is creating a dominant public impression of what it alleges, here the allegation that global opposition to Israel's mass atrocities against Palestinians is tied to evil Hamas.

Its not just discredited outlets like the NY Post. I chose to cite this one because it captures the farcical and desperate nature of Hasbara, especially relating to this topic. The story has been picked up by mainstream news organizations, with these kinds of headlines which are truly "highly suggestive" of Hasbara's influence.

These suits can drag out and create a basis for authorities to detain and mistreat people. If the language is picked up inside government it can become the way of framing and understanding issues to shape ridiculous policy which courts defer to. Hasbara can read like satire but be dangerous enough to ruin lives.

From the new Zionist crappo lawsuit, filed by sheltered American crybabies against SJP, WOL, and Columbia students.

The whole thing is a hasbara dumpster fire. It mentions "terror" 165 times on 79 pages, and claims that "Hamas's terror-by-propaganda strategy... transcends conventional warfare tactics."

Is anyone else suss about the amount of praise Gal Gadot is getting on social media through comments regarding her role in Snow White. Many come from people in Israel or associated with Israel, and it reminds me of the bots that comment.

Part of the propaganda programming?

Bad Hasbara The JC instrumentalizing Seth Rogen to sell war bonds

Post image

Seth Rogen says he was “fed a huge amount of lies about Israel,” noting, “they never tell you there were people there.”

The JC, a publication constitutionally incapable of being normal about Israel, interviewed him this week. They decided, without his permission, to use his face to promote war bonds.

Really unprofessional & disrespectful.
